Algodoo on the iPad

Re: Algodoo on the iPad
I asked the algodoo support team about this and this is a quote of my conversation with them.
Do you have a guess on the date? I would also like to inform you that I have started a Wikia group for Algodoo, here is the link. I just was wondering if you could get in touch with the website administrator for the Algodoo forums, and ask him to put it in a sticky or announcement so that more people see it. Thank you for your time, have a nice day.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, it will happen. Compiling for iPad is not difficult, but implementing really good multitouch support has taken a bit of time:

Is there any plans in the making to create a version of algodoo for iPad? There are tons of people in the community who want it who know how to develop programs for iPad, and I'm sure that if you asked any of them, many of them would be more than willing to do it for free or at least very cheap. Please consider it because it would be a very good idea.

First off, you don't need to censor Ken's name. We all know it. The cell number, however... Second, it's not really a good idea. We already proved the iPad won't handle it very well, and even though compiling for it isn't difficult, it's still probably a lot of trouble and I'm pretty sure it's not the most wanted feature.
Not trying to speak for Algoryx here, though. Just stating my opinion.

If I got an iPad for free, I would try and hack it and give it more memory and/or I could hook the screen up to a normal computer (mac/linux).

I highly doubt everyone will do that, though.

You can't hack a hard/flash drive to give more storage, and you can't do that with RAM either. I'm not sure which you were talking about RAM or hard-drive, but either way it can't be done.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

I think he was talking about using the swap thing that you can do if you jailbreak it, but that isn't really that good as it wears down the flash r/w limit on flash memory.

Re: Algodoo on the iPad
I meant RAM of cause and theoretically, you can give the iPad 2GB of ram in 16 128MB K4X2s (the iPad has only 2 128MB K4X2s)
The K4X2 ram is commonly used in samsung phones because it is produced by samsung. This probably means the A4 processor is being made by samsung.
Also for a portable device, 64GB is more than enough.
You cannot change the processor or GPU because they are one and thus wouldn't work.
As many know, the iPad is clocked at 1GHz when it can be 1.3GHz.

Yes, but it is likely impossible to over-clock the processor since it likely doesn't have a user-loadable bios to over-clock it, and you would brick it by trying to flash it with a custom BIOS
. As for ram, the very adventurous one would be able to do it, if they wanted it to be half open all the time, and unable to fit in it's own case
.

If you hacked it then yes you can over-clock it and not brick it in the process and there is room inside for more memory but apple "thinks" there isn't
