How to run Algodoo under Linux?

Hi. I unpacked the Algodoo.tgz into the /opt/ folder. How can I start it?

I get this Window after clicking on the Desktop Icon:

It's hard for me to say what's going wrong from that screenshot.

I suggest you start a terminal (xterm or whichever you prefer) and try to start algodoo that way by typing the full path e.g:

/opt/Algodoo/algodoo

It should start just fine. If not for some reason, post the error message and we'll try to help you make sense of it and how to fix it.

Next step is to get the desktop link working, if there is some setting when you created the link, enable "run in terminal" or similar, enable it.

Into the file "Algodoo.desktop".
I´ll test it now.

When i open the file OpenSuse says

That sounds like your .desktop file is broken. Recreate the link similar to how you did it last time or edit the file by hand.
If Algodoo is stored at /opt/Algodoo, then a .desktop file similar to this should do the trick:
