what happened to phun?

Postby KaLul » Tue May 18, 2010 6:46 pm

Hi all.
I Know this is a very strange question but i can remember a time ago phun was planned to be a free version of algodoo or maybe a more game like programm then algodoo...
Ok , algodoo is for schools. We all know that but sometimes many users want to have more then just this.
are softbodys still on the todo list ?? And what is with breakable objects which REAL brake , not making all parts thats dumb and makes ur game eat pcs power.
And what happend with the thrusters idea? and all of those? the spawner?
but the simple one not that scripting thingy which is only for people who will and have enought time to learn all of this.
i dont want to say that emilk and co. are making senseless things, but who need skins??????
that time we could`ve got thruster or something.
Well emil, ken, youre making a great thing we`re all proud to be a part of the community and users.
but what happened to phun (maybe algodoo) and the things u wanted to do?
Greetings KaLul

1. Don't you think it's going to be hard to simulate soft bodies?
2. And what? Objects that break realistically won't have an impact on speed?
3. Are thrusters an import part of the whole "physics simulator"? Have you not seen the many scenes the users of Phun and Algodoo have made that replicates this thrusters?
4. Spawners exist. I even made one into a thruster. Don't ignore Thyme. Thyme is incredibly simple and would only take a few moments for you to learn.
5. Skins, IMO, are very good. They give the user more customization with Algodoo. It may be "senseless", but I'm sure people like personalizing their programs.
6. Phun's still here. Right in front of your eyes.

Honestly, all I can see here is a bunch of whining.

I was playing with the idea of getting Algodoo, but I realised I didn't actually need it, as I was coping with Phun perfectly.

Good point, but when you can get algodoo on the old member discount for £5 like I did it's worth it. All you really get is imporved water and lasers.

KaLul would be valid for the old member discount. But its not about the water and lasers. Its about the little things like less bugs, grids, more thyme (Rocks my socks off), better graphics and more tools.

Agree with mystery here... Definitely worth getting algodoo if you're an ols
member. Stop pretending that it's just as good because it isn't.

I never said its just as good, and I wont. Algodoo is better than Phun, but I simply don't need it. Like I said,
I was coping with Phun perfectly

I had the same idea before I had Algodoo. Now that I have Algodoo, I found out that I'm coping even better.
