Not enough RAM

Not enough RAM
This never happened to me before on Algodoo, but recently, the not enough RAM sign comes up and shuts down Algodoo, and makes me have to shut off my computer, since it thinks Algodoo is still running. I have done some things to stop this from happening, but it never happened before, and now it happens randomly. The only other time before 1.7.1 where the RAM box showed up was Phun V. 5.2.6, which happened when I put 10,000 particles of water to see how far I could take the program. Very odd...

Re: Not enough RAM
I'm not exactly sure, I got my computer as a gift one year by my brother. I am not very good with computers, so he did all the uploading (the RAM) and stuff for me. All I know is that my computer is very beefy and strong, I know it is since I run cads on my computer too. The fact that one circle in Algodoo needs more RAM than a cad is not right.

Re: Not enough RAM
I'm assuming you're using Windows. Go to Start > Run > Type in dxdiag > Under System Information you should see how much RAM you have.

Try find out how much RAM you have then maybe we can help. Right-click on Computer and click properties. A window should pop up. Look through the info it shows and near the bottom it should say how much RAM you have.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Re: Not enough RAM
I think it may have been caused by a disc defrag, it hasn't happened since then. My brother said that could be a possibility.

Nope, not for the past two weeks. It may have also been the scene I was working on, it was a wing that was doing well, but it would make things very slow for some reason... That is what I think happened.

Re: Not enough RAM
If you want to monitor the available ram while you do something, i suggest Ctr+Alt+Delete, task manager, then click on the performance tab where it shows you a graph of physical memory usage. If you see youre about to run out, close algodoo and reopen it to get rid of all the 'undo' data.
