How to cut texture out?
I'm just not sure how to do it, and instead of trying to figure it out myself, I am posting a topic asking for help. How do you cut texture out? I saw it in the video for algodoo, but I can't find where it is. there is no "color options" menu, rather, there is an "appearance" menu. can you still cut out textures with the click of the mouse?

Re: How to cut texture out?
use a program like fireworks to make the background clear and export it as .png or a file that supports it
then you can use the auto cut feature

The texture must have an alpha channel (transparency information). If it does you can select the textured geometry and click "Appearance -> Generate geometry from texture"

In the original video you showed the rocket texture that algodoo comes with generate a geometry but it doesn't have a transparency, and you cant' do it with the rocket now. If you need to use the alpha channel data that's ok but couldn't you also have an option to detect what the top left pixel color is and make a geometry by deleting all pixels with that color?
- Code: Select all
