Do you have the most recent drivers for your graphics card?

Are you experiencing slow frame-rates in Phun/Algodoo only, or in all your programs and games?

Re: slow framerate on windows 7
have you installed all the updates from "windows updates" not just the one's that install automatically?
also do you know exactly what your graphics card is
for example the :ati radeon hd 4890
also try downgrading your graphics drives.

It not a matter of graphics cards it about OS. Try running in compatibility mode for vista or Xp.

Hmmm...try these things:
-Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card
-Re-install Algodoo
-Re-start your PC
-Check your PC for viruses and malware
-Make sure you have the latest version of Windows with all available updates
-If you still have problems change some settings in Algodoo (take off (uncheck the boxes) anti-aliasing and uncompressable fluids to improve performance)
If you still have problems after doing ALL those things then I recommend you contact Algoryx.

Re: slow framerate on windows 7
a good thing to take off is the hardware water generation (or something like that)
and graphics is one of the causes for that.
this is probably the best way to set computability mode on algodoo.
open my computer
navigate to: C:/ --> Program files --> algodoo
right click on the executable <might be a bit different from here>
properties
compatibility
tick the box "run this program in comparability mode for"
and select vista or windows xp (service pack 2)
it might also be worth selecting disabling desktop composition ( this WILL disable things like aero until algodoo is closed)
also try running algodoo in full screen ( file --> toggle fullscreen or by pressing "f11")

Well, I'm not really sure then. You should contact Algoryx.

Re: slow framerate on windows 7
try using a different set of drivers off this page.
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/w ... sta64.aspx
shamefully, as some companies release new hardware the driver packages released don't properly support your hardware.
for example take my "time pc" with a nvidia graphics card.
the current drivers don't work with it at all.
but an older set of drivers work perfectly.

Yes, perhaps older versions will fix his problems but they might cause performance loss in other games. But I do recommend you try this nima2007.

Yes he should.
Saying and doing is two very different things, understand that most people wouldn't know what Algoryx and they would have no idea how to contact them.

- As much other information you can think of that can be important for understanding the problem and debugging

It doubt this would fix his problems but it's worth a try. My guess is that there are compatibility issues with Windows 7 or he has some other software/game installed on his PC that are having conflicts with each-other causing performance loss which is the sort of thing that happens when you install several anti-virus programs at once and run them all together.
Try it anyway. You can download the latest version of Algodoo here:

Re: slow framerate on windows 7
I'm experiancing the exact same problem. I ran Phun smoothly on my previous Vista installation. Now that I've upgraded to Windows 7 it's really slow. Even an entirely empty scene has unbarably slow framerate.
As it seem to work fine for Mystery on Windows 7... what about 32/64 bit system?
I upgraded from Vista x32 to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. What about you Mystery and nima2007?
[Edit] Oh, forgot to tell you that I'm running Algodoo 1.7.1 after the Win7 installation, not Phun.
[Edit] Tried with Phun too now, same problem.

Re: slow framerate on windows 7
If anyone out there run Algodoo 1.7.1 smootly on Windows 7 (64bit) please answer!
[edit] Searched the forums and found a guy with Windows 7 x64 who solved a similar problem by updating his GPU drivers. I'll try that asap.
[edit] Installed drivers and rebooted, without success. Same problem -_-

Try setting it to 32 bit mode.

what is your screen resolution?
if it is anything higher than 1024x768 that may be your problem.

It's 1366x768, but as I said, it worked perfectly before changing to Windows 7.
