1.7.1 crashes on brand new Intel Classmate laptop
We (company were I work, large materials company) would like to spend Classmate Laptops with algodoo, wedo and other modern software to a local primary school. We ordered a brand new Classmate Laptop for testing (which runs Window 7 Starter - out-of-the-box Intel Installation without any changes made by us) and the software packages.
Both with 1.6 version and 1.7.1 I have often blue screens crashes or windows freezes completely when using Algodoo and the computer has to be shut off obver the power button. All other applications run fine.
My daughter of 6 which plays a lot with phun, tried the Classmate Laptop and is totally demotivated of the crashes with Algodoo.
Do you know of issues with Classmate and Algodoo? Did you test the newest classmate configuration of Intel? (You advertise with Classmate on your Website so it should work.)
Please look into this. In this state I cannot forward spending Algodoo. It is unusable in this state. Please look into this ASAP.

I doubt this will work, but go to your Algodoo install directory and delete Welcome.phz, then go to My Documents\Algodoo\Scenes and delete _ONEXITSAVE.phz.
It probably won't work, but it's been the cause of many problems in the past.

if not. go starr --> run and run the program "dxdiag"
go to the bottom of the program and click save all information. post the content of the file into the code tags on this forum.
also. open my documents and navigate into the algodoo folder.
post the contents of the logfile also into the code tags.

Look anything we can say is purely an educated guess.
Send an email to Algoryx ( support@algoryx.se ) they would be your best bet.
Also can you post the log-file it should in documents/algodoo

Hi,
thanks for the tip to delete the files Welcome.phz, _ONEXITSAVE.phz.
I did do this and Algodoo did not crash anymore.
I do not undertsand how these files can cause this
, but it seems to help to delete them.
Thx,
Barry

Welcome.phz contains water, which can cause crashes. By deleting the file, the water was no longer in there, and it wouldn't crash. _ONEXITSAVE.phz holds all the information of the last scene, so if you don't delete that, the scene with water in it will come back.
