[Implemented]Tool hot-keys

Postby nsmith » Fri Apr 02, 2010 8:30 pm

Edit: (by tatt61880)
Implemented at v1.7.2.
You can use Tools.BoxTool.hotkey etc. to customize hot-keys.

There should be a chart to hot-key tools. maybe there is, but I haven't found it yet...

I think if you hover your mouse over the tool, it tells you.

A- Plane
S- Spring
C- Circle
X- Box
K- Sketch tool
P- Polygon
H- Hinge
F- Fixate

Yeah, that's all I've memorized, but you get the point. You can also just press keys and see what happens.

Well, you never said so. All you asked for was a chart of the hot keys. :\

Here are some other keyboard commands that you should know:

Code: Select all
Ctrl+Click = select multiple objects

Ctrl+Click+Move = copy selected item(s)

Ctrl+Z = Undo

Shift+Click/Object surrounder such as Box Tool  = Deselect object(s)

Shift+Mouse Wheel = Move object(s) to front or back

Shift+Box Tool = Perfect square

Shift+Polygon Tool/Chain Tool/Cut Tool/Sketch Tool = Straight line

Shift+Move Tool = Move on only X and Y axesis

Delete = Erase Object(s)

Backspace = Erase Object(s)

Ctrl+X = Erase Object(s)

Space = Pause/Un-Pause

I use nearly all of these simple commands all of the time, and they help me out a whole lot.
I hope they help out somebody else! :D

You should also note the Pause key which will move the simulation ahead one step, very handy when making fast moving objects.

You mean Shift+Space = Move ahead a step :wtf: ? If that's what you mean, I didn't know that command existed.

So you were just saying I should put the pause key in the list? Then I have no idea what you meant by...

You should also note the Pause key which will move the simulation ahead one step, very handy when making fast moving objects.

The pause key won't move the simulation ahead one step, at least not in Phun. So I've got no idea what you meant by "it'll move the simulation ahead one step".

Its an Algodoo code, since your in the Algdoo section i assume you and everyone else is using Algodoo. (I don't care about you sig)

If your using phun here, the code is included in algodoo's config file just copy this into the console and you'll be one step closer to algodoo.
Code: Select all
Keys.bind("pause", {Sim.running=false; App.Step})

The Pause key works in Phun.

Oh, okay! I had no idea that that key did anything. I thought that Mystery meant the Space bar, which is the Phun Pausing key. So Pause/Break will move the simulation ahead one frame, or one step? Cause I don't think Phun has 'steps'.

Let's call it one frame so we can all understand it.

Oh and btw, regarding your signature, the Phun forum is basically closed so no point of joining there.

Can't you still post there if you have an account on there? Oh, and thanks for the Pause/Break info, I'm sure that'll help me out allot. :thumbup:

I'm gonna put up a list of commands if there isn't one already, and it'll be in Algo in general. So if you need to know some commands, or if you know some, tell me and I'll put them up there!

You can't. That would make no sense and would render the current Algodoo Phun forum here totally useless, which is now lacking in activity probably because of the lack of other sub-forums in there.
