Fastest Speed Reached In Algodoo

Postby Physicsguy » Sat Mar 06, 2010 7:20 pm

Here, we try to get the fastest speed we can get to in Algodoo!

So far my record is:

1e+016 J

To find this: Go into view plot, and that's it, see how fast you can get any object moving! Make sure to delete the killer walls first though :P

If you're trying to visualize speed it would be useful to set the y-axis to speed first :D

And it looks like the total energy of your moving object is more like 1.5e+016 J

My fastest speed was like 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 kmp or something like that. I'll try and find the picture again.

mine was about 3*10^60m/s but then algodoo crashed because that is faster than the speed of light.

Any speed is possible. Just type in +inf in the controlleracc of an object and press the buttons to move it. Or script a circle to spawn at +inf speed.

Code: Select all
scene.addcircle{vel:=[+inf, 0]}

that will let the circle move to the right at +inf m/s. It might be considered cheating to some people, but gear97 didn't say how he got the speed, he could've used these methods.

That's why it's bullshit.

@Chronos It is slightly bullshit but not really. When you hit ANY speed over 4,300,000,000, then there is always a possibility of it deleting.

I mean it's bullshit that he hit +inf without using codes like that.

ive got +inf speed on beta 4, by using negative air friction... it showed up on the geometry info, but just enough for the screen to fade out.

Technically light on algodoo travels at +inf. Why doesn't it go at the real speed of light?!

Because it probably can't handle it. Plus, there's no need, as it would seem the same to us.

That is incredibly easy to do.
