READ BEFORE ASKING FOR HELP

if you can think of a better name for the title and I will change it!

if there is only one thing you do before you ask for help on these forums then delete your config file as this in most cases fixes the problem.
Guide for windows
if you use algodoo then go
start
my documents
algodoo

delete the file named config

if you use phun it will be in the place you installed phun.
if you used the installer then go
start
my computer
C:\ (normally named local disk)
Program files
Algodoo phun edition
delete the file name config

in linux it will be in
ALGODOO

this should work with the default ubuntu setup
on he top menu bar
click places
click you name
go into the algodoo folder
delete (move to trash) the file named config

PHUN
if you use phun go to the folder where you run phun from
delete the file called config

please could someone tell me how to do the above on a mac system

if all else fails
on windows

go start --> run --> type "didiag"
when the program opens click save all infomation and save the file in your documents folder.
open my documents and open the file you just saved
and post the contents in the code tags.

also if you use algodoo open "My Documents" --> algodoo and post the contents of the file called logfile in the code tags on this forum.

if you use phun go
"My Computer" --> c: ( normally called local disk) --> Program Files --> Algodoo Phun Edition --> open the file called logfile and paste the contents in the qote tags on this forum.

doing the above step will give us important information about your computer
aswell as any problems reported by phun / algodoo

in linux
ALGODOO
on the menu at the top go places
home folder
algodoo
post the contents of the file named logfile
as well as what version of linux you use e.g. ubuntu 9.10

PHUN
go to the folder you run phun from and paste the contents of the file named logfile
also post what version of linux you use e.g. ubuntu 9.10

in Linux try this (this method more than likely will need root privileges so more that likely you will need your password )
in the menu at the top of the screen
click system
administration
update manager
click check
install all the updates available

Then go
system
administration
hardware drivers
when you click on the above the system will look for any hardware drivers available for you computer
after it finishes the system will list any drivers that you can use on your computer
enable all the drivers that are enlisted in the window.

if anyone wants to add to this information just pm me or post a reply.
I WILL give credit you credit.

I own a computer with windows xp and ubuntu Linux.
so if requested I will be able to post some screen shots.
could someone post the instructions for mac.
also feel free to rewrite this for me in an easy to read method.

I may end up chucking this onto my website so I can have multiple pages set up

On OSX

go to where you installed Algodoo/Phun. Normally Applications/Algodoo or Applications/Phun

Delete the config files. Both the thyme and config ones.

You might also have to check for config files in Users/User Name/Library/Application Data/Algodoo and delete any that are there (not near a real computer right now to check this [on an itouch])

Good luck
