So what if science uses it? Phun is supposed to be...fun. Most kids don't even know what the metric system is. How could they use it if they don't even know what it is?

They should learn. It's totally awesome! Besides, most schools teach it in 3rd grade, or even 2nd grade, so it's not very difficult to find a kid who knows it.

Metric sucks. America will never go over to the metric system.

actually sonic, the metric system is better and more practical

*easier to calculate different things, since it is by 10s
*universal except for here in america
*used for most aplications as far as manufacturing goes

however you are right, america will never switch to it 100%
(partially because there will always be old people who remember the "old way" and they will kick and scream)

but if you sell globally why would you want to add in extra junk if it will only effect some of the market?

besides, i never said that america shouldnt change; i just said that we won't
since it is too deep into everything we do.
like the car speedo. NOBODY would want to change it out. then the govt would spend $3 billion to give them out to stupid people

It's the same reason that Algodoo is in multiple languages. Accessibility.

good argument!

but would you use phun if it was only japanese or something like that? less likely
Also it is still easily usable with a diff. measuring system
you won't say "oh crap this is metric i guess i cant really use this"

Opinion: languages are easier to change though. you would have to change a multitude of things in order to get pounds and calculations for speeds would also have to go thru extra steps. i think that all in all it would make it lagg more

look at the main argument instead of the opinion section. that is the more impportant part of the argument
besides nsmith, it couldnt make it lag less

I agree it couldn't make it lag less, but if you think simply making an option to where it would output results in different units would cause SIGNIFICANT lag, then you're crazy. It would be barley noticeable if at all.

I think the best course of action would be to have download-able and installable unit sets, like languages.

Some things and places there are, for sure, but i dont think it is the greatest country in the world. Try Russia though. Now that is a cool place (From my point of view)

Got something against minor nations?

If the community was allowed to create different language packs, I would assume unit packs should be fine as well.

Heck, there's a leetspeak language pack for Algodoo. If that isn't proof of unnecessary (though cool) options, I don't know what is.
