How about, for those of us who live in a country that doesn't use the metric system, there's an "American Mode" so all the measurments are in the American system so we actually understand the information we're looking at.

Metric terms are what's commonly used in physics anyways.

I've gotten used to m/s,
I simply remember
1 m/s is 3.5 kph (Walking pace)
30 m/s is roughly 100kph
45 m/s is roughly 100mph
340 m/s is Mach 1 (speed of sound)
300,000,000 m/s is roughly the speed of light

I understand the basics of the metric system, just not the scale. If someone told me it was a kilometer away, I don't know how far that is. If they said a mile, I'd know what they were talking about.

Metric measurements is designed to be easily converted everything is to the power of 10.
There are 10 Millimeters (mm) in a Centimeter (cm),
There are 100 Centimeters (cm) in a meter (m)
There are 1000 Meters (m) in a kilometer (km)

It also works converting against different sorts of measurements
1 litre of water weighs 1 kg
1m^3 (One meter cubed) = 1000 litres

As Americans may find Metric system weird You're the odd ones out

Thus "American mode" is not only extremely arrogant but really, really stupid as well.
