Cannot Save

If you have problems installing or running Algodoo, have found a bug or need in-game help - this is it!

Cannot Save

Postby faro56 » Fri Sep 04, 2009 6:31 pm

When I save a scene, it appears to save OK, but when I go to the Algodoo folder and then open the scenes folder, my scene isn't there!!! :x

When I resave, it says I already have one saved. Do I want to replace? Yes.
Still, I couldn't find the file.

When I hit load scene, my scene shows up, but not in Finder!
I'm using Mac OS X Leopard.

On mac it is in Application Support.

How to get to the Application Support Folder:

  • Double-click your harddrive
  • Double-click the Library Folder
  • Double-click the Application Support Folder
  • Double-click the Algodoo folder
  • Double-click the Scenes Folder

Your scenes should be there. :)

It may be annoying at first but you could create an alias folder for scenes on your desktop.

For Linux it just creates another folder with all your other folders you have made in the past (Pictures, Music, Videos... etc.)

I had some trouble with this too, but just use the search feature in Finder for a specific scene, then remember the path to it.

Hi, the saved scene files are not written to the /Application/Algodoo/scenes folder, that is only used for the included scenes shipped with Algodoo (and you can drag downloaded scenes there if you like). All user created scenes saved from inside Algodoo go into

~/Library/Application Support/Algodoo/scenes (where ~ is your home directory)

When you use "Load scene" in Algodoo, it will automatically look for scenes in both locations.

i think there should be an option to save it to where algodoo is installed, for people who run on a flash drive (like me :()

I have some sort of same problem, i am using windows XP and i cant find my scenes on my pc, so i can't upload my precious scenes! But IN algodoo i see them easy, on Phun edition i can find al the scenes i saved in it; so if i save a algodoo (.phz) scene i can't find it! I used "verkenner" (don't know how it's called in englisch, i'm dutch...) and i used Total Commander to find them but i couldn't find them an i couldn't upload them. :(

Please help me with this problem,

Monstertje3
