After I open Algodoo for a second session, my computer crash

Postby Karadom » Wed Feb 24, 2010 1:33 am

sorry for not saying "Crashes", not enough room. I first made this in scene sharing, thinking that it was caused by dowloading 2 scenes, but it's not.
But anywho, Every time I stop using algodoo and I want to starter another session later, my computer freezes as soon as I click on the Algodoo icon.
I have windows XP and use Internet Explorer.

If you have anymore questions on computer specs, ask me.

Yes full specs would be nice, my guess would be you don't have enough ram.

It's probably IE.

So you're not trying to load two Algodoos at once, but you're trying to load it again?

Yes, Chronos, after I'm done using Algodoo then say an hour later I want to use Algodoo again. Then my computer freezes, forcing me to push the physical off button.
IE is Internet Explorer, I assume, I know it's not that, because if I simply use Algodoo via the desktop icon, it freezes.

After you run Algodoo for the first time, look in the Processes tab in the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and check if Algodoo.exe is still running. If it is, end the process and load Algodoo again, and tell me if it crashes this time.

You know, I did what you said, Algodoo.exe wasn't still running. BUT I ended some tasks that I didnt need to use right now (Zune, Itunes (my sister has a zune and I have an Ipod..) Steam, etc.) and Algodoo runs fine now, thanks for the help!

Rather odd solution, but I guess it works. :P

It because those programs take up Ram.
Out of curiosity how much ram do you have?

install this:
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
and stop all programs that you don't need running all the time e.g. steam and itunes. only stop programs you recognise as stopping a windows componet can destroy your copy of windows and will force you to reinstall losing all your files and programs.
this will give you more ram and your computer will startup and run faster.
and to use a program just start it from the start menu.
When asking for help, READ THE STICKIES!
