Use more phun
Please if you are going to make a scene or phunlet, please try to create it in Phun if possible.
Why?
It is a very simple reason, some people may agree, some may not, anyway I post my opinion, that is what forums are for, I wish you understand and comprehend me and all other people like me or in the same conditions.
A fact is that scenes made in Algodoo can only be ran well in Algodoo, in other words, can only work as the creator wants if they are loaded by Algodoo, although there are no lasers or other Algodoo-only features. The same happens with Phun, I know, but there is a difference from Phun to Algodoo, Phun can be freely obtained, meanwhile Algodoo can only be obtained by paying 29€, so any user who has Algodoo, and, therefore, can load and work correctly, Algodoo-made scenes, can also download Phun freely and work correctly Phun scenes, while a user who has only Phun, can only run correctly Phun-made scenes, and as he/she can't or doesn't want to buy algodoo, these people cannot run correctly Algodoo scenes.
I am not asking for much, I am only asking not to use Algodoo instead of Phun to make a scene or phunlet can be perfectly made by Phun. I am only asking to leave the comfortable grid tool, to allow hundreds, or more than hundreds, thousands of people who only have Phun, to enjoy your scenes, all those great scenes and phunlets.
Of course I am not saying not to use ever Algodoo, and of course you will use algodoo if you want to use laser tool.
You are free to decide to take this into account when you are about to make a scene or not, it is up to you.
Anyway, I hope that if you have Algodoo, you to put yourself in people which don't have Algodoo.
There are a lot of people which make Algodoo and Phun versions for each scene, and I want to say to them:
"Thank you, thank you a lot"
And thanks to everybody who has read this and is going to take notice of this post.
Thanks.

Dude, most scenes that were made in Algodoo work fine in Phun. However, scenes made in Phun have problems in Algodoo. If you're just gonna be another whiney bitch that Algodoo isn't worth is, stfu and gtfo you twat. This was funny months ago, but now, it's just ridiculous.

Basically, your asking us to not use Algodoo at all. The same Algodoo some of us bought. That's just messed up.
What if I asked you to stop using Phun because it isn't that compatible with Algodoo, how would you feel?

Don't be so hard on him. He just wants to be able to play your scenes.
It seems that Phun scenes get more views, comments, and ratings on average than Algodoo scenes. Basically, if a scene doesn't use lasers then it would be to the creator's advantage to load the scene in Phun, perform the necessary tweaks, and then upload both versions.

Kilinch has gone very well uploading [Algodoo/ Phun] or [Algodoo edition] scenes, its not even much effort.

Chronos, Phun scenes have problems in Algodoo the same as Algodoo scenes in Phun, the problen is that as you always load scenes in Algodoo, both Phun and Algodoo-made scenes, you don't know what happens whith Phun, but people without Algodoo do.

And please if you are going to insult, please go away to any other forum in which users only insult themselves and which is imposible to expose your opinions without being insulted by others. I am not insulting you, because I don't want to put myself at your level.

It is just ridicoulus to people like you, but people which don't have Algodoo, (yes, there are, open your eyes, there are people other than you) is the possibility to enjoy all kinds of different new scenes for them, but the problem is that you cannot put yourself in our shoes.

No, I am not asking not to use Algodoo, once again, If you want to use it to make scenes with lasers or if you want to make perfect shapes, use Algodoo, what I am asking is that if you don't have any inconvinient, that seems you do, use Phun to allow us, people without Algodoo, to work correctly your scenes.
And one question, using Phun to make scenes, prevent you to use Algodoo, that one you have payed for it, to make the same scenes, or to make other scenes, or to enjoy messing up with things?
Algodoo is not only for creating scenes, and loadinng others scenes, you can only make figures and mess with them, and you can use Algodoo for this.
And what I have said it is up to you.
Rich wrote:What if I asked you to stop using Phun because it isn't that compatible with Algodoo, how would you feel?
I will stop using it if you ask me to stop using it if this allows you to run correctly my scenes, because it isn't a lot of effort.
I am generous and don't like that my scenes can only be ran by a small group of users, I will feel happy for those users who now can enjoy my scenes.

First, I rarely use lasers, it gets kinda boring once you get it.
Second, I think I can see your point here. I believe you are trying to say that people should also make their Algodoo scenes compatible with Phun. At first, what I understood was "don't use algodoo to make your scenes, use phun".

People can use whatever program they feel like they would want to use, I use both, Phun for big,Thyme powered machines, and algodoo for more simple easier things. Its all mostly a matter of opinions.

I apologize for the way I reacted. I was tired and I didn't read your post correctly.
People with Algodoo made Phun-compatible scenes most of the time, but people without it can only make them work with Phun. That means that the Algodoo users have to find and open Phun every time they want to load that scene. I guess we can only wait until Algoryx matches the physics engine in Phun to the one in Algodoo.
Until then, I guess Phun users have to send their scenes to an Algodoo user to make them compatible.

Re: Use more phun
lets just face it.
" Emil became a proud employee of Algoryx and Phun moves in with him." algoryx then made a commercial version of phun ( bet you can't guess what it is called) and now, they don't care about phun.
your best option is to "buy" algodoo
also i have the same problem at my grandads.
i dont have algodoo there, so i use phun, and quite a few algodoo scenes don't work.
but welcome to life, if your not going to buy the full version, you just have to live with the crappy free version.
unless you are willing to take the illegal method.

Crappy on comparison to Algodoo.
Then again thats not fair comparison, comparing anything to Algodoo will make it seem like a piece of crap

There should be free lite version which has 2 modes: player which can run all levels, and builder which has only basic stuff unlocked. I really don't know why authors didn't make that.

Re: Use more phun
I would agree that you should be able to open and play all Algodoo scenes for free with the demo, but only have the saving capabilities work with the correct limitations, so we can stop people from whining about how "OMG Algodoo should be free because Phun was free and I'm cheap and I don't want to pay for something that well deserves to be paid for and now I'm going to be an asshat and only make my scenes work with Phun (or Algodoo) so you can't use them!"
Really, how childish.
This is like why I don't support old web browsers on my website. Sure, some of them were good back in the day, but now they're outdated and don't support the new standards. I use Algodoo because it's better, and well worth the few bucks I paid for it. I refuse to be slowed down by stubborn sentimentalists and cheap people. If something I make doesn't work in Phun, too bad. If it does, that's fine with me.
So get over it. The rest of us want to move forward.

i agree with dakta. either get algodoo some way or another, or accept the fact that phun is no longer supported and may never be updated. Maybe if you pester algoryx, they may update a few things in phun to make algodoo scenes work in phun, or they may even make an algodoo player, to load algodoo scenes in a read only mode.

I doubt pestering them will help. Usually, annoying people just makes them NOT want to do things for you.

Phun does deserve an update to fix some of the bug fixes, or at least make it open source.
