The only difference between the current version and the future updated version will be bug fixes, at best a 1-2 major improvements /additions(a bit of an understatement there). i.e. there's not gonna be much difference. I don't agree.

i said previously in the metaforum on phun:

the difference, my freinds, between phun and algodoo is the same as the difference between a bugatti and a VW
a VW is cheaper and doesnt necessarily perform well; A bugatti costs a heck of a lot and it performs amazingly and is more luxurious(for the most part) Not everybody wants to pay for that bugatti, so they get the VW. both of these cars arefrom the same major company (VW) the major differnce is owners of VWs dont complain about not having as much stuff as a bugatti. (because the relize that $ makes a difference)
it just seems that most of the whiny people around here havent quite rapped their minds around that concept

we (phun users) get what we pay for. we dont pay we dont get alot. simple

Hell no. It would be highly unfair.

nah it wouldn't work. If you're not supposed to pay the algoryx staffs salary eh?

The money from selling the program helps pay the staff and in turn makes Algodoo better.
In addition, many people have already paid for the program, and refunds are catastrophic from a business perspective.
It would not only hurt they consumer by limiting updates, support, and even possibly the program itself, it would also harm the producer, Algoryx.
The fact of the matter is, despite any promises or hopes, Algodoo costs money, and there is no going back. If you can't spend the money to buy it, stick with Phun. If Phun is not enough for you, then you can pay the amount necessary.
As for making older versions available for free, I don't think that would be effective.
The best decision would be to continue adding features to Algodoo, and keeping most of their efforts there.
Updates for Phun should be sporadic and have not near as many features.

If they add a feature to Algodoo, they can transfer an equally big feature from Algodoo to Phun. That's fair.

I know Algoryx needs more money, then make algodoo cheaper, and then more phunmen will buy it! Ideal cost will be about 10 Euros.

I agree, then.

Before they take it down to 10 Euros they need to make sure that everyone who is willing to pay 25, 20, and 15 Euros for it has purchased it. Think about video games. They come out costing $60 and then a year or two later you can find them as low as $40 and then $20. Algodoo probably won't be so differnt.

You never walk into a video game store and ask if you can have the original Super Mario Bros. game for free though. Time made lower the cost, but you'll seldom see the cost go down to 0.

No, the ads were removed around beta 4. Or was it 3? One of them.
