Laser Off Centered

If you have problems installing or running Algodoo, have found a bug or need in-game help - this is it!

Laser Off Centered

Postby Paradigm 29 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:43 pm

This is actually two bug reports in one:
1. The Skin on the laser is imprecise. I can't believe no one's said anything about it. The triangle is off-center. :(

2. If you spawn a laser at the origin and then rotate it 90 degrees, the laser will not line up with the Y-axis perfectly. It's not as noticeable as the imprecision on the skin, but when making a thruster you can see that a laser rotated 90 degrees will cause your thruster to slowly veer. A laser that is spawned pointing straight up will go much straighter, longer.

1.
It's just a texture. Who sais it has to be lined up perfectly in the center? Maybe they thought it looks better like this :D

2.
Wow, you're right. It gets a littlebit imprecise. I tested it. If this can be fixed it would be awesome.

Actually, it is a bit of an annoyance. So if they made it better, then good!

2.
Wow. I can't believe you noticed that. Good job.
Millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. Something terrible has happened.

Maybe it's not perfectly aligned with the Y-axis because the texture is off-center...

The prism isn't a perfect triangle either.
I do stuff and break things. You know how it is.

I think it's just an arrow, not a prism.

Oh. I don't think that really matters though. :| There's no such thing as a perfect triangle in real life, only in theory. Algodoo shouldn't have it perfect, as it makes it more realistic. Plus, it's impossible in Algodoo, too.

That's a polygon. Those things are anything but perfect.
