Tell me the max speed the CD can be read, in bits per second.

this is compleatly diferent from what i was doing, but its very simple and can store 2035 bits of data.
should run as fast as the lazer can reflect...

this is where a filter would come in handy...

Oh yea I forgot to mention that the refractor is also a beam splitter, which splits laser beams using refraction. Those ID 2 gates aren't really necessary, unless different input identities are a must.

I would make a CD to show you my idea, but I still haven't gotten my copy of Algodoo.
But lasers run at 68 Hz relative to computer speed, no matter what the sim speed is (excluding lag). I forgot to mention this as well.

Rotate the refractor block 45 degrees, and watch the magic of optics

Its the universal logic gate!!! :o

NAND

build anything with the one piece.

I know about digital logic gates. Can I help design it?

Cool. Can you make NOR and XNOR gates as well? Flips flops would also be nice. Also, a single pulse gate might be needed (when there is a true input, output is one laser pulse).

Design digital circuits? That would be nice, except I'm not too sure how data will be transferred right now.

...That doesn't really look like full adders.

Okay people, before we go ahead and use our imaginations, we'll need to make the logic gates better. Better as in more reliable (no random split-second blips) and less laggy. Making the logic gate more reliable means some sort of design redo, and Making them less laggy means decreasing the number of lasers and rays (individual lines of laser beams). Read the first post for more info.

Conundrumer

I've finished a NAND flip flop gate, but i think you should update your first post with some of the created pieces so they're easier to find!!

Also created a booster for weak lasers.

XNOR gate finished
NOR Finished

I was hoping you can create a basic flip flop gate module that doesn't use other logic gates, for saving space and lag.
The ID gate already serves as the booster.

If you can make an integrated NOR gate, an SR latch would be easy to make.

I've done all the ciurcutry for the 7seg display. Uses fours scene.my varibles (laser1, laser2 etc.), to reduce lag, but made it so they can be taken away. Credit goes to conun for the logic gates and idea (and plans).

Needs tuned, change the values of the scritped see thorugh box. The double not gates are there to boost the signal to amuch bigger laser for final display.

The SR latch works its just you need to make sure the beam is on for long enough. 8-)

edit; And nice one para!

Are you sure Nxdt? I was having is not store a signal because the blip erased it.

Yes, it works best if you alterante the keys 1 + 2 but hold them for a tiny bit.
it does bugger up if you use 1 then 1 or 2 then 2 , just a matter of chance what happens.

Probibly not because they are unreliable. Are you think of using them to store data?
