Algodoo won't start

Postby BorisS1990 » Sat Nov 21, 2009 4:15 am

Hi all, just downloaded the demo of Algodoo 1.6.0. and I can't seem to get it to start after installing it.
I'm running Vista 64 and all my video card drivers are up to date.
I installed the demo to my 'My Documents' folder and installed the vcredist_x86 thing that comes with it.
When I try to open the program however I just get an empty window. No menus, no 'File, Edit, View, etc' bar. nothing. Just says Algodoo demo at the top of the window.

Any Ideas? This program looks really cool and I really want to get it to work.

Have you tried installing it on the desktop? I don't know how to really help with this as I use a mac. :/

Please list your system Specs as well as your graphics card.
I highly recommend you uninstall and re-download.

I can't get Phun to run, what do I do?

I also had to do that with Algodoo Demo when I got it the first time. Maybe it helps you.
I am currently only using Phun 5.28 and not Algodoo. I would annoy the people on the Phun Forum and not here, but the Forum refused new registrations when I looked the last time.

Thanks alot to everyone. Seems like I got it to work.
I had reinstalled it several times to various places and did what the README file told me. Except I put these config.cfg commands at the end of the config file, which didn't help.

System.fullscreen = true;
System.resolution = [1280, 1024];
System.vSync = false;
System.depth = 16;

But erasing everything in the config.cfg and just putting those in seems to have worked. :D

Here are my specs anyway, maybe the devs can use the info in newer versions.

Vista Home Premium 64
Intel Core i7 @2.67GHz CPU
6Gb RAM
GeForce GTX 280 Video Card
Screen Resolution 1280x1024 (max)
DirectX 11
