Buran (Russian shuttle) testing

Postby Kilinich » Sat Nov 07, 2009 1:15 am

Hi, ppl.

I'm happy to finish this game and glad it works as I plan to.
It's a gliding game with very realistic parameters and controls of Buran orbiter.

You separate from Mriya aircraft and try to optimal way descend to the ground. After all you must keep vertical and horizontal speed within safety limits. Don't forget to release landing gear

All physics/aerodynamics done with tweaked K-Wings and K-Probe. Now speed limit is more than 800m/s.

This is insanely difficult. Cool, but insanely difficult. Also a bit to Russian for my liking <_<.

You know, I didn't expect anything difficult, really. I've made many many test and 50% times landed successfully.
I think some tweaks can affect gameplay, for example non-100Hz freq or something else. Use default.

I managed to go vertically, stall, glide upside down then straight up and land :D

w00t, I made it up to 15,3

It think that's the furtest I can get. It was really hard to beat the 15.1 :)
but I could get those 200 meters by flying with as less drag I could get, so the distance would be great.

I love this game :)

Now add an engine, that works great, so you can fly to the moon, land, and go back :)
Edit
Yeah I know shuttles don't land on the moon. But that's fun to try :)
