What do you mean by 'adjustable hinges'?

By that, I mean that you could have a spring act as a stretchier/tenser/dampened/distanced breakable hinge.

You have to take in the fact that hinges are very random when stretched, and would not act like a good spring.

I support this. Thought I already know a way of making this. But it's very hard to explain.
I use: Algodoo
I like using sliders with springs.

how about a spring that if fixated at both ends and bends as well as stretching

i support springs that are limited but snapping ones would be annoying

just put both ends of the springs attached to 2 circles(1 in both end).Put hinge to the circles and that's it. just change the break limit on the hinges.
I like crashes alot!

I think the first step is to have springs with a limit of proportionality.

I agree with limited/breakable springs, with different settings for compression and extension.

Very nice Idea, I'm sure if Emil was to read this thread, he would understand the concept and how it would work.

I think this idea is completely ineffective in many ways.. I'm sure many of you find ways to use this, but.. Hey. You find a creative way for replicating this. So have I done on many issues so far - It's not like they will give us an Elephant Tool or Pogo-stick tool anytime soon (eaven though I'd REALLY need those..)

Yeah, I made it a few months ago, used it a few times on the forums, and forgot about it.
