Visible Gravity Field

Suggestions for Algodoo Phun Edition.

Visible Gravity Field

Postby FruitMonger » Sat May 22, 2010 6:22 pm

I think it would be very helpful with some scenes that use magnets if you could see their magnetic field. It could be like a circle coming out from the object that slowly fades away as the power of the magnet gets weaker.
Of course with the attraction fall off that makes the magnet attract with the same power no matter the distance, you wouldn't have the magnetic field circle, cause that'd just be annoying.

This would be impossible because there are actually no magnets in Phun or Algodoo. Joking aside, there is a feature in Algodoo that shows you the gravity field of objects.

Btw, update your signature.

I personally like this idea. As RicH said there are no magnets but the attraction property still acts as a magnet when applied to a object so this could probley be done. This would be helpful if Algodoo is used for education.

Remember, it's not a magnet, and it doesn't act like a magnet.
Also, this is what the gravity field looks like:

Okay, I admit that there are no phun magnets, but you get what I mean. And yes, that picture is pretty much what I meant. You have a field of color that shows the gravity field, and it gets dimmer the further away it gets.

I don't really get what you mean by visible. Do you mean a circle around the object that slowly becomes transparent?

Oh. That shouldn't be too hard to ceatethen. Mind you, I wouldn't know as I have no coding experience at all.
