Fix the damn bugs already

Postby Frank » Fri Sep 04, 2009 12:05 am

A number of bugfixes have been developed for Algodoo. I'm not demanding any of the new features, or the better water, the sharper rendering, the stronger chains, or the speed optimizations etc., but Phun deserves to have its fixates and script menus sorted out. We've been waiting a long time and these very obvious and annoying bugs are still there in dear old 5.28.

Why? 5.28 was a beta version of algodoo (version = 0.5.28).. Do you think windows 7 will update its beta versions when the final is released?

What you're saying implies that Phun will cease to get updates and improvements, and that it has more-or-less been deserted. This is NOT what we were led to believe when the plans for Algodoo were announced!

they wouldnt give you 5.28 because its got "algodoo" in the name :( maybe 4.23 or earlier :/ maybe they think we would make a better version of it :P and phun was to use us as beta testers :P

Guys, do you seriously think that Algoryx is gonna keep updating APE?
I mean, come on, if you were a company, you wouldn't be making a slightly downgraded version of your highly popular commercial version for free, would you?
Almost every company is about the money, that's what they're made for.
The guys at Algoryx have to make a living, you know.
Please excuse my posts. I am extremely stupid.

They're opening to a different market.

I for one hope he never wastes another second on Phun. I've got Algodoo, and I don't want precious development time spent on the last version.

If APE still had the bug fixes, it would still be completely different to Algodoo.

Is that really horrible sarcasm or wut?

I don't know why they should release the source code, since it would be very similar to Algodoo(I assume).

Anyways, why the heck are you guys all paranoid? I bet half of you already own Algodoo, so why would you care, anyways? I read somewhere (Can't remember where, sorry) that they are going to keep working on Phun, just at a much slower pace. Algodoo hasn't even received 1 update yet. Should I start running around the forums ranting about how they have abandoned Algodoo and why they should release its source code? Sorry, but when people do this it just ticks me off.

Nope, he's not, he said almost every company, there can be a few that don't, but a majority,
Anyway

It wsould be nice to have a source code for at least phun v.2,
Maybe not though, because someone might develop lasers, a grid, and other new features present in other versions, then people would simply download the modded version for free, is that why a source code has been held back?
