AH-64 Apache collab (rebirth)

Postby D4NG3R NL » Tue Sep 01, 2009 6:55 pm

Hey guys, I wanted to re-start the Apache collab that was on the older Phun Forums about 6 months ago!

Stuff Checklist:

- 20m Measure Tape
- Apache body
- Lifting Defice (It needs to carry a LOT of weight and work WITH gravity)
- Weapon Systems (I'm working on these)
- Some sort of Rocket Tracking Defice
- Rocket propulsion that works WITH gravity*

*which is not either Huge or ejects a lot of water/objects. if it would start at a regular speed and accelerates slowly would be great

The hellfire's need to be guided towards a target... I'm about to ask the maker of the "Advanced rocket system" to help with that

The hydra's should just fly in a straight line and be quite fast :)

I already made the basic rocket's (Hydra-70 and Hellfire II). I need some sort of propulsion system that constantly accelerates the rocket, it shouldnt be "Bullet launched" like a lot of phunlets use..

Lol the preview failed :S

Just pull one of the rockets out to test it... -without gravity atm..- no propulsion yet :S

Thyme stuff:
- Bullet Spawner that spawns circles WITH a tracer
- The Guidance System for the rockets

Okay I might aswell join this, but what could I do..? I'm average at thyme but I've experimented a lot with rockets and missiles too.

Maybe you should start with the helicopter, then work on the weapons

The point is, I love to create military vehicles so I made the rockets even before I decided what to do with them!

if you could make some sort of "efficient -without a lot of water or particles-" engine that fits into the rockets I already have, it would be awesome! the problem is... I dont think the Hydra rockets will stay "stable" enough... they will probably start dropping/tipping over :S they just need to go straight to the front! (and they need some -not to high tho- starting speed, otherwice the stability wings will PUSH the rocket itself away -try it with my rocket base... pull it out very slowly-)

But these rockets aren't exactly vehicles. They don't even explode ._.

I just want to say that working on the skin first isn't a good idea.

btw I made the apache collab, and I still have a lot of the parts

Rockets are considered vehicles :) (some rockets at least XD)

Anyways, I'm currently working on the explosive part :)

Even tho I have no idea HOW I'm going to do that atm :S (I suck at thyme, and when I work with either Springs, Collision or attraction (Using attraction as in -10 for example) it fails misserably because it hits either the vehicle/platform it was launched from, or detonates to late/to early (or not at all)

Okay I've done a rocket launcher, just check scene responses on the main scene :)

Well if it was a two stager I could fix it but im not quite sure how to do it.. except ofcourse using variables to adjust density / negative attraction affecting the water. I'm not sure if custom variables are quite a good idea if these are going to phunlets

just put a secondary engine on it which is the first stage :) thats only short burst, like on a javelin missile :) then it will work all the way :)

Fast and stable hydra rockets. Things can get messed up when all of them are fired at once :(

And here's my idea about helicopter propulsion.
To get more lift, increase the mass and air friction multipier of moving parts.
