iPad bugs

The iPad beta is here! Now let's find those bugs...

Only post things specific to iPad here!

I'm looking for serious bugs, i.e. crashes and the like. The beta crashes at times, I know. What I don't know is what exactly triggers it. If you figure out a way to make it crash consistently ("follow these steps and Algodoo WILL crash...") then tell me. Don't just write "it crashes... don't know why. Please fix!"

Downloading scenes doesn't work well, at all.

Suggestions:

app.mousepos not working, I suggest to add "virtual" mouse to remember last screen touch place
onscreen keyboard buttons overlapped and not clickable
don't drag onscreen keyboard if key "pressed"
remember last onscreen keyboard pos
remember last scene browser pos
display warning if scene not prepared for iPad
add online phunlets button (or what that empty space for?)

Couldn't see downloaded and saved scene.
Can't scave scene to algobox
"Use hardware accelerometer" button has hint "double click for options" but there is no options
Gravity options window don't show real values if hardware accelerometer activated

Disable display off on sim running
Disable upside-down rotation if hardware accel enabled (including controller acc)

Destroy keys still on screen after activation, shold be removed from onscreen keyboard
Controller accelerator automaticaly takes joy0 and works improper, should be able use accelerometer or keyb

Suggestions (I really need this :)
Fixed context menu option
Player mode on sim running option (saved with scene)
Two fingers straight line drawing for poligon tool

It's good to say that almost all simple scenes from algobox works fine on iPad!

But use it on iPad-only (without PC/Mac version) is yet impossible: algodoo iPad interface needs something like shift/alt/ctrl keyc on PC or it just useless. Can't create anything on ipad, it's a nightmare to select or draw straight

Second big problem is game control:
* onscreen keyboard too small and for one hand only, not very useful.
* accelerometer usage is gravity only and kinda dumb (should be adjustable limits for direction and strength)
* needs ability to bind direction controller to accelerometer (with limits)
* onClick works only on release but we need something works on press and hold with multi-touch support
* also we need some slider control, it could be done via geometry drag but too complex and easy to break

Zoom out to max is laggy as hell because of clouds.

[Open scene] button doesn't work for me.

Below image is the screen shot.

^ Close button close the widget but other button do nothing and no scene is not shown even after I saved some scenes.
Re-installing Algodoo doesn't solved this issue.

iPad version's built-in Algobox blowser doesn't show gear animation when loading page.
Is this intended?
I'd like to distinguish "loading" and "do nothing".

Most issues with the scene/algobox browser/sharing will be fixed in an update later today.

The changle of gravity's angle with accelerometer does not change the Scene.gravityAngleOffset.
Tablet. class does not work on iPad
The screen is upside down

Suggestions:
> Script menu - even only to watch* and I want to ask if Algodoo for iPad will have editable script menu.
*you can watch the script menu when you open and minimize it on PC - on iPad you expand the box.

It's an offset, not the current value. There is no way to access the accelerometer from Thyme right now - but I could add it under Accelerometer.value

Correct. Supporting pressure sensitive tablets on the iPad is quite different, and quite niche.

I think that its upside down too! In the present orientation I cannot use the case to prop it up.

Yep, the screen is upside down. The standard Apple Smart Cover is set to the correct landscape orientation. As it stands now, the Smart Cover is unusable.

Hello folks!

I am trying to load a phz file from a onCLick function (Scene.Open) on my scene. It works on Desktop version but in the iPad there is an error with the file path (I am using Algodoo/scenes).
Does iPad app supports Scene.Open or Scene.loadScene?

I have the first gen of iPad OS 5.1.1. Just downloaded it, but it keeps crashing, initially within the first 2 minutes of use, and then immediately upon entering the app. My 6 year old son loves Algodoo on my PC, but is devastated that it can't work on his iPad. Do you have a solution for him?

For iOS 10.1.1 The UI is invisible!!! I am on an iPad air 2... PLEASE update the app to make it compatible with iOS 10! :cry:

Have you actually considered emailing Algoryx as opposed to spamming the forums with posts?
