Phun Theme - Live Acoustic version

Postby emilk » Tue Aug 10, 2010 10:20 pm

So I bought this portable recording device this summer and tried it out on my parents piano. The noise level is a bit high (I should probably have put it closer to the piano), but I thought you'd like to hear the results anyway:

Enjoy!

Very nice and smooth theme  really like it!
(but can't connect it with Phun/Algodoo - I like more aggressive music style for it)
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...

Very nice indeed :). I never realized Emil was quite the musician. It has a nice passive feel to it i think i could connect this to Algodoo quite easily.

Cool.
Could you upload a low noise level version? :s

Nice!
This is what I was waiting for! Phun theme for piano! Can you please upload the music? I'm a pianist too and I really want to play the phun theme.

Makes me want to make an electro-metal cover of it.

Thanks for the feedback!

tatt: There is no low noise level version, and I cannot make one since I have no piano myself. I have a keyboard, so I could record a lie digital version, and maybe I will if I'm bored one day.

Matten: This is the general idea: Your left hand does the arpeggio pattern "1-2-3-2-1-2-3-2" (e.g. F-A-C-A-F-A-C-A for a F major chord) and the right hand the pattern "3-2-1-3-2-1-3-2" (e.g. C-A-F-C-A-F-C-A for F major). This is done for all the chords. The key is C, and the chord progression is the following, with base note noted for correct inversion (same for left and right hand). So G/D means "G major, starting on D", so left hand plays "D-G-B-G-D-G-B-G" and right hand "B-G-D-B-G-D-B-G".

F/F, Am/E, G/D, Em/E
F/F, Am/E, G/D, G/D

F/C, G/D, Am/E, Am/E (with a quick G/D)
F/C, G/D, Am/E, Am/E

F/C, G/D, E/E, Am/E,
F/F, Fm/F, C/E

I hope that is clear enough! If not, I could maybe make a video.

Sonic: please do! And upload the results!

PS: maybe one day I'll upload some other composition of mine...

hmmm...

Don't understand.
A video would be nice.
And I regonized that you don't play it like in the original music.

F/C = F chord in right hand and C chord or note (depending on what it says or how it sounds) in left hand.

hmm...
Could also be I don't understand because I can't "hear" the original phun theme in it.
That's why it would be nice if Emil uploaded a vid.

The original Video of phun now has 2.3 million views! I only went back to the original video for the music but it brings back memories of the original phuns. What good times.

Can you write it in notes or tabs? Please? (I don't ask Emil because I don't want to spent his time on such trifle)

PS
I'm playing the acoustic guitar, and I'd like to learn how to play this :)

I will write it in either because some people prefer tab and others score. I like score cause you can write more with it but what do you want?

I was planning on doing one of those, too. Also, if anyone wants the sheet music, I'll get to writing it up (as long as Emil is okay with it)!

But yeah, this is pretty awesome. Now all you need is to do it at a beach. :P

Oh, thanks  . I prefer tabs b. they are more understandable for me. :? When I see note at the stave, I can play it at different frets, and I don't know which of them I need.

By all means, go ahead! Better you than me - I can just barely read sheet music to be honest.

You still have me beat. I can't read music at all. And I can't play any instruments.

A kazoo is an "instrument" and if you blow on it it will make a kind of whooshz sound.
