computer requirements
I teach 8th grade science in the US. I am trying to convince my district to purchase at least a 30 seat license. I downloaded the demo to my Macbook running OS X 10.5.8 and have been having some issues. When I run the demo, after a period of time, Algodoo freezes up then crashes. What are the computing requirements for the program? This is the most impressive software that I have seen. I'm very excited to introduce this to my students, but want to make sure we have adequate computers to utilize it.
Thanks,

Re: computer requirements
Think you could post the specs of your computer? It would help out a lot.

Re: computer requirements
This is from the faq page:
Nothing is stopping you trying the demo on every pc you plan to use for this software.
Minimum system requirements:
* Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, Linux or Mac OS X 10.4
* 1 GHz CPU
* 256 MB of RAM
* Video card with 96MB of memory
* 40 MB of free hard disk space
Recommended system requirements:
* Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, Linux or Mac OS X 10.6
* 1.6 GHz CPU or better. Faster processors give faster simulations.
* 512 Mb of RAM
* Video card with 256MB of memory
* 100 MB of free hard disk space
Demo version for evaluation
If you feel uncertain about this, you should download and try the demo version of Algodoo. If the demo version works well, then the full product should also run smoothly

Re: computer requirements
When your running algodoo, make sure that there are no applications that us a lot of memory/cpu running in the background
Maybe try Algodoo 1.7.0 Mac.
You may have problems trying to run scenes off algobox using this old version, but since 1.7.0 there has been a noticeable drop in performance.

Re: computer requirements
Are you still having problems? The specs you posted seem like they should run Algodoo fine.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.
