Yet another Release Candidate is up to be downloaded! This time with a few more fixes and polishing.

And the changelog:

* IMP: Made find-texture window resizable.
* IMP: Starting Algodoo for the first time can be slow, so now a special loading message is shown for this case.

* FIX: Spring selection ghost point positioning.
* FIX: Expanding script menu.
* FIX: gif/jpeg loading on Windows.
* FIX: Issue with "New Scene" window suddenly getting a scroll bar when one was not needed.

* FIX: Loading scenes overriding default textures (e.g. "wood") even after the user opens a new scene.
* FIX: Issue with pressure sensitivity with tablets.
* FIX: Issue with palm erase on SMART boards.

Ati radeon hd 5450 1GB
-Latest drivers
Intel E5500 @ 2.88GHz

FPS has dropped from ~40 FPS (RC2 and before) to 4.8 FPS....

//problem also in RC2 now....

I have found something for plots, if you set the timespan low, so you get a close-up image, the previous test results don't show, is this a feature or a bug? ( can imagine it as a feature, for clearer view, but also as a bug, hard comparing)

I think I'll just stick with RC2 for a while.
Looking at the messages with performance drops (especially that from electronicboy), I don't think it is a good idea.

Because my computer specs are pretty much comparable ( with that from electronicboy:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
AMD Athlon 64 X2 1.9 Ghz Dual-Core
Nvidia GeForce 8400M G
Latest drivers

Electronicboy's specs are better, I know!
If he experiences performance drops, I will definitely experience them.

And because he experiences it in RC2 too (after installing RC3 and then downgrade).
I personally think there are some leftovers from the previous installation.
Like in the Windows register for example.
Or maybe Algodoo makes the same calculations twice in RC3, due to an error in Algodoo itself.

I'll just wait for RC4.

i suggest to try the upgrade!

as i said in my post above, i had a feeling it was due to the gfx driver updates i had the other day...
after (frustratingly) removing the drivers, and reinstalling the old one's, performance was back to the usual 60FPS!

-------

I had only noticed that it was the GFX drivers yesterday when I tried to play Dead Island, and the title screens just lagged or even crashed....

RC2 will be running perfect on my pc now :)

When I am drawing a chain in the screen, the length of the chain is not always 0.00m

The first problem I found is that when Algodoo crashed on my pc the "Did you know that..." screen left there and I couldn't turn Algodoo off, even tried using task manager.

The start-up-crash (which suits your name) should be fixed in RC4: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=4962 - please confirm!
