Emil takes a vacation!

Postby emilk » Mon Aug 31, 2009 6:11 pm

So, after working hard on Phun and Algodoo for over two years, it's time for a break. So starting tomorrow, I'm going on a three month vacation! The plan is to go by train through Finland, Russia, Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand before flying home again.

So who will take care of the inevitable bugs, I hear you ask? That would be the work of Silok (our Mac porter) and Joel, the new guy here on Algoryx. I wish them the best of luck with that! :)

Once I get back I will of course continue working on Algodoo again.

Anyway, take care, and I hope you enjoy Algodoo and the new forums!

I couldn't agree more, you deserve a nice vacation. Maybe whilst your visiting all those places, something inspires you for a tool or feature you could add to Phun/Algodoo in the future.

Yup, it is a well deserved vacation indeed. Me and the rest of the Algodoo team will make sure that these forums are attended to while Emil is away.

No offense, I'm not sure why... But when you said this, I got a mental image of you with an evil look on your face, laughing maniacally while us forum-goers look terrified. :|
Lol.

Anyway, have a great (well deserved) vacation Emil!

P.S. If the train isn't going fast enough, try increasing the friction on the tracks... :P

For now it is me (Kenneth), at least most of the time. I would guess that we will stop using the admin user for administrator users with real names instead, but I forgot the password to my other user

Unfortunately, I won't have that much time to watch over the forums, but others will. You will see of Lukas, Joel, Mattias, Nils and probably others too. (but then, I think the community is so cool, that I have a hard time staying away from here).

You think the community is cool? That is actually a really nice thing to hear from someone high up. I was always under the impression that we were a nuisance. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

I think whats going on is emil is searching for enlightenment to the way forward for algodoo and phun, and searching all over the world for new flavours of material properties and cool physics simulation.

A 3-month vacation is less than you deserve. If only everyone could take vacations like that, but I have too much work running a studio... I did go to Sweden for a month last summer, AMAZING!
