A sad day for Algodoo!

Postby electronicboy » Sat Jul 13, 2013 7:40 pm

Hey everyone,

It's a sad day, for the whole Algodoo community. Emil has left Algoryx, and has decided to move back to his home city with his family.

It's amazing how far Emil has taken a small program for his university, into a program used be thousands, for entertainment, and for education all across the world.

Now, I could start to write a big long page about how much Emil has done for us, but look around. Look at the program you've spent many hours of your life on! All the fun you've had, and the crazy people on this site whom, some of them have become like brothers to us.

I hope that everyone here will, as I have done, wish Emil good luck in his future!

Emil,

Good luck with your future endeavors. What you have done with Algodoo is truly amazing. It is not often that somebody gets to create something that works so well and is appreciated by so many people across the world.

Emil,

Algodoo is such a distinct physics simulator. You probably didn't expect it getting this big and popular, or the complexity of some scenes. But there was a reason we all used Algodoo. Now that it's free again, I hope that it will one day have a resurgence in popularity. Thank you for all the work you put into this.

Emil -- You are obviously a brilliant and very talented man, so you will do well no matter what you intend to pursue down the road. If you ever get bored and decide to get back developing Algodoo or other such simulators, I know that everyone who has had the pleasure of working with Algodoo would look forward with excitement to using other new and improved programs that you design!

I'm sure that Algoyx employs many talented software engineers, but they have lost a huge and important asset when you decided to leave. Of course you must do what you believe is best for you and your family, and I'm sure that everyone understands that.

My best wishes go out to you, and may God continue to bless you and your family.

Thanks everyone!

It has been a lot of fun, but it was time to move onto other things. But Phun, Algodoo and most importantly you - the community - will always have a special place in my heart!

Thanks, Emil,
and the best wishes for you and your family.
Really, we will miss you here and i hope you spot into our forum once and a while to see whats going on and maybe even to help us if you are bored at home or need disentanglement by concentrating on an issue thats interesting.

The pupil in schools all around the world surely thank you too, but dont know how to... and they will miss your splendid ideas that might further improve the ways in which Algodoo can be used for their creativity and learningprocesses.

Big thanks, Dr. St. Balk
