How to make Real Life Movies with Algodoo Physics

Hey guys!

I came up with a great idea for using Algodoo to create Pre-Keyed Effects! Here's something you can do with this:

Here's how to do it. You'll need Adobe After Effects to do this. (Might be best if you read ALL the directions so you don't make any early mistakes)

1. Find a picture of the thing that you want to destroy, or just take a picture of it in real life (if you choose real life, put a big green piece of paper behind it so you can crop it).

2. Take a video of yourself acting as if your destroying the thing that you chose.

3. Import the video to your computer.

4. Open Algodoo and import the picture of the thing you chose and cut it up with the drag tool (Make sure the picture is cropped around the edges).

5. In Algodoo, create a mechanism to destroy the object (Make sure everything is invisible besides the object itself. Hide Windows).

6. Make the background Green.

7. Screen record the object getting destroyed.

8. Import both the Algodoo Video and the Real Life video into After Effects.

9. Put the Algodoo Video over the Real Life Video, and put it in just the right position for it to look like its really there.

10. Right click on the Algodoo Video and go to Effects>Keying>Color Key. Make the Color Key Green, and adjust the sliders until you get as much of the green away as you can.

11. Time the video and the algodoo video correctly so the object gets destroyed right when you punch it, kick it, or whatever you did to destroy it. Maybe even speed up the object or slow it down to make it look more realistic if you need to do that.

12. Once you get everything just right, press Ctrl+M and save it where you want it, click render, and your done!

If you decide to try this, put your video on YouTube and post it here. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
