What is self collision?

Hi,
What is the meaning behind "Self-collision".Can it be explained by a simple example.

if you add it to two geoms they wont hit each other :)

Self collision, or HeteroCollide in the script menu, is the trait of objects, that have the same collision sets(i.e. AGFJ) to NOT collide with each other, while they keep colliding with objects that share collision layers, but don't have the exact same set. Note that self collision also applys to water colliding, so an object with ABC and water collide on WILL collide with an object with ABC and water collide off, even if both have self collision off.

Not only ABC.. collision layers but identical combination of layers and collideWater means it's "self".
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...
