A new algobox?
Ok.. first and foremost this isn't going to be another one of those posts, from what I gather everyone is well aware of the poor shape that algobox is in, and after actually trying to use it now it has me semi annoyed.
What would you guys think if another competing site launched? Would you consider using it, uploading to it, helping spread it around, etc.. or what's your opinion on it? I'm familiar with everything required to do one and could easily make it comparable to algobox if not better.
The issue at hand for me is whether people would use it or not, as I'd rather not waste my time, in addition as well, if algoryx actually has any plans to update the current algobox to make it more stable, more features, etc.. then perhaps I don't even have to pursue this.
Anyways.. let me know what you guys think, opinions on it, etc..

Post what you think is wrong with Algobox and how you can make it better. I ask this of you mainly because I'm not aware of the poor shape Algobox is in. It seems the same as its always been... Are you talking about scene quality or are there some bugs popping up?
Also, I think the Algoryx's endgame for scene sharing is to integrate it into the game. Can't remember if that's from Algoryx or just rara in my head.

Nah, not scene quality or anything like that.
Bugs/issues and features mostly. Such as me being unable to upload a scene due to a server error every time, seems to of occurred in the past as well for others. I've also noticed at times algobox seems to take awhile to load, normally I'd assume ISP issue but everything else loads fast at the time.
And adding features.. for example, on the browse page to give options to show algodoo or phun scenes, select a minimum rating, categories/tags, whether to include scenes with screenshots, etc.. the same for popular files, would like to be able to drill down the results better such as algodoo only scenes, etc.
I'd also prefer the image preview be a link to the file page like the title under the image, I often click the image thinking it'll take me to the download page but I end up having to go back to click the title, could just be me though.
The search is nice, though I'd also like to be able to select minimum ratings, to include scenes with screenshots or not, etc.. and personally I'd rather see checkboxes instead of a dropdown style list that you have to ctrl+click to select stuff, more personal preference on that one.
As well, the rating system, Imo I agree and disagree with it. I agree on the aspect that it would be easier to get a high rating without the initial 5, however if dozens are rating it high and the one initial rating causes it to be lower, then it's not a true rating in my opinion, just an estimate. I think after like 10 ratings the initial one should be taken out so the file has a more accurate rating, or even just go back to the way it was before and have no initial rating (I think I saw a post about this too).
I've only been using algobox for a fraction of time all of you guys have and already think it could be a lot better, from reading the forum I've noticed posts stating some similar features so I feel at least some others agree...
Again though, this is just my 2 cents and opinion, nothing more.

Re: A new algobox?
Algoryx has got plans to integrate algobox into algodoo. I've recently read it on a post from them somewhere.
I don't think that anyone would use it and i also think to would be better to keep all scenes on one site.
If you want, upload the scene onto somewhere like fileden and inbox me with the link and the description and title you want and i will upload it for you.
