Algodoo on Steam

Postby broken89 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 5:47 am

Is there any chance Algodoo will ever be distributed on the Steam platform? I really think that Algodoo would sell well on the Steam platform and plus if it had Steam Works support for saved scenes that would be awesome. I know it was made for education but its also a damn fun game!

I doubt it. Algoryx probably wouldn't make much money if they did that. Besides, Algodoo doesn't need Steam. It's fine the way it is (coincidentally, it doesn't need steam (as in gas) either :P).

No. That would be day Algodoo dies.

All of you who said it would be bad are just stupid. According to your idea: if Algodoo is put on the largest game-distributor, it would fail more!

Stupid. If it is placed on Steam, more people will see it. More will buy it. More will play it.

But Algodoo is an educational product, the same reason math wizz 1.5 isn't on steam.

Steam is officially coming to the MAC.

I really believe that steam is a great platform and the more places Algodoo is available the better.

i wouldnt mind if steam was one of the distribution methods but things (especially stuff developed by a non-megacorp) have a tendency to become steam exclusive once they are there and i personally h8 the shit out of their distributing platform that trys to brainwash u while its doing u up the butt

Uhhh last day yo get it for free fools!

And yes, steam is also on mac now. And they're coming to Linux soon as evidenced by bits of code in steam.sh on the mac that check if it's Linux.

Steam is a very successful DRM platform that has been carefully presented to children as a great new way of buying games (plus, it was created by Valve, the heroes that made our favorite games, so it's got to be a good thing). As Algoryx said, they do not wish to make their copy-protection overly complicated. Do you seriously think Algodoo needs DRM?

They could have a built in Algobox downloader/viewer in Algodoo but it would be pointless.

i dont really algodoo is a kind of program that would go on steam, also i dont think algoryx would like having to share money with valve for something they sell allready.
