I looked up 2d physics simulator on youtube back in 06. at that time, there was hardly a single phun video, but the intro was enough for me

I was actually just reading the Wikipedia article for a favourite game of mine, The Incredible Machine. In related pages, it had Phun as a link. After some searching the internet, I happened upon the great program of Phun which eventually led up to Algodoo.

I can't quite remember when i first got it, although the oldest version I found at the moment on my computer is 2.28, although i've switched computers since i first saw it.
EDIT: Im not sure if that is possible, the oldest on the phunland site is 3.5 or something... did they get rid of older versions?

Incredibots, i got hooked on it the moment it was released. In turn reading a couple reviews one of the critics stated it was very similar to Phun with a link to the website. So i immediately downloaded it and tried it out it i couldn't grasp the idea of "right clicking" so Phun seemed to turn me off. Eventually i found a youtube video of the greatest things in phun, shocked out of my freak'en mind of what you could do with it i gave it another shot and been hooked ever since.

Re: Where did you saw phun/algodoo first time?
It wasn't really an ad, just the site had a link to it. Kind of a 'featured' thing.
Also, that interrobang (Yes, I know what it is. I've know it for years.) really doesn't display well.

Yes i did.
an interrobang is probably the most awesome thing ever invented but since windows 7 doesn't support it i'm over it already.
I find it surprising that most of us found phun in a lucky circumstance

Yeah. Cool people don't discover phun - phun discovers them.

nah, in PPP(Phunland Phundamentalist Party)...
i was starting off as a Robot Arena 2 player(hence the ra2 in ra2lover, STOP saying its red alert 2, please), long before the excessive glitch abuse which made possible extremely unrealistic, while searching for something more realistic. i found incredibots and on its forums i heard aboutits similarity to phun, then i moved on to it. myfirst downloaded version was 4.0, while 4.22 was already avaiable(stupid outdated mirror)

Re: Where did you saw phun/algodoo first time?
it's a joke...
based on the fact that in the Russian language, the direct object precedes the verb and the subject comes after the verb. therefore, to say a cool person discovers phun in Russian, then you would say, "phun discover cool person" (they don't use articles either). the soviet part serves a few purposes.
1) it adds some more syllables and improves meter
2) it set's the tone because "soviet" is generally associated with something skrewwed up.
3) it just makes it funnier.
