Postby Mr. Universe » Wed Sep 02, 2009 6:27 am

I have a computer at home and on i take to school but I want Algodoo on both but i don't want to pay twice for the same thing. Could i use the same key on both PC's Because $82 is a bit much just to have it on two computers.

I'm wondering the same thing, as I've got a laptop coming that'll be running a dual boot with Windows and Linux. Three licenses seems a bit much for personal use.

I also need to know this as I have about 6 different computers.

http://www.bonurl.eu - Free url shortener that produces urls 6 characters shorter than Tinyurl

There has to be a limit. Otherwise, what's stopping me from giving my serial to all my friends for a free or for a quick buck?

Technically no you cant, i had a look through the terms and if you are going to install it on another computer the license asks that you uninstall the first copy before installing the program again on another machine.

However if its on the same computer that would seem to be acceptable - its all on the same IP and same computer so i cant see it being a problem installing it on all the boot partitions on your computer.

Ken stated that it's only for 1 computer.

It works for multiple. I just registered the demo on my new eee 1000ha that I got today, on top of the desktop. Might it be one license per person, then?

Awesome! But, yeah, it works for Windows. I'm also going to partition my eee with Ubuntu, and I'll test it then.

DON'T DUAL BOOT UBUNTU AND WINDOWS!! The BIOS will need to be re-flashed from Ubuntu Live-CD often.

Nope. I know how it works. You partition the drive, and when you install the operating system, the GRUB bootloader is installed in either the Windows or Linux partition (or Solaris, or BSD, or what ever). The BIOS merely says what media to load the operating system from. You change a setting in the bios to boot from a CD or USB drive, and install from the external media. No bios modification is necessary, or even wanted.
