maybe the texture tool has been removed and textures can now be accessed in the object menu for geometries.

Oh, I see it now! Yes, it makes much more sense that they would replace the texture tools icon with a padlock than a can of paint. I feel so foolish for my previous mistake.

i know about a teacher who asked if it was possible to lock scenes from editing during pupils have to play with it. so it can be a possibility. but we can't really see what it is for. can be a lock but can also be a paint can. let's wait and see^^
