When your computer has multiple cores but uses programs that only supports single core....

Yes, but it's not optimised anyway and there is no performance gain.
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...

This, I've never actually seen any performance improvements from that, Algodoo just isn't designed to split its process between cores, but with the way the application works I can't see it happening too well in terms of keeping simulation accuracy as good as it is with multi-core support unless it was to split say, water onto one core and geometries onto another, and even that could cause havoc with simulation accuracy between those with it sent to 1 and those with it higher.
