Having a cracked demo version is bad. That is it. And the fact that you are searching for it is rather suspicious.
Even if you reported it, you are still held in account for having said crack. Either way, it's bad.

On a side note, this showed up while googling 'Algodoo crack'

How would we know if you had a cracked version or not? ;)

For all I know you may already have a copy of it, and you are just waiting for a reply from an Algoryx employee to see whether you can get a free key for finding it, or you would get banned for it. Then again, I am RicH, I am prone to form conspiracy theories ;)

Obviously, all software out there, with no exceptions, is being cracked. This will also happen with Algodoo. We expect cracks to show up rather sooner than later, and even if we are notified about it, that will not help us much. However, we do appreciate if you mail or PM us information about cracks!

At Algoryx, we are actually quite disgusted by many of the anti-piracy organizations, their legal methods, and their rediculous estimates of sales losses. It is particularly annoying when they represent any of the global media conglomerates.

However, we also have very low thoughts about those that produce cracks and think that if they would spend their brilliant skills on more constructive things, we would perhaps have a better world.

Obviously, we hope that those that like Algodoo will also purchase a license since that's the only way we can continue developing Algodoo.

We will of course remove any links and other information in the forums that will help people finding or using any cracks that show up.

theres always that chance that theyll crack it to see if its any good, then buy it if they like it, and uninstall it if they dont. i did that for a few things (not algodoo. the demo convinced me enough to buy it :P)

Well, I think the 15 hour free trial should be more than enough for evaluating Algodoo.

Hey, but the algodoo logo isn't nice. That's why I bought it after 1 hour

I love how it fills 1/4 of the screen! That's the best part! But seriously, newer versions it should be smaller until there's like 15 mins left!

You could always use a different computer if you're like me, and can't accept change

I gotta admit when i got the full version i was like... awww... the logo is gone.

Is there a way to get it back up if your recording videos for instance actually? (long as i can get rid of it again without buying another license) :P

Well, it's really too simple to get around the time restrictions in the demo (i mean come onnnn.. you had no better idea? :P )
well i still bought it because
1. the logo
2. the 5€ deal .. amazing :)
3. i like to support cool software like this

still i wished algodoo would finally implement ccd (then i might've even bought it for 30€) :(

You can get much faster collision detection using App.alwaysCalcContacts, there are a lot of features like these which solve the common problems like wanting faster collision detection and better rendering, you just need to find them :D.

You do that with almost all time trial software. Since 95% of the world has no idea WTF a registry is its best not tell every one about it.

That why they have the 100 part, the only way to get past it is... :D

Using an EXE cracking software, the original code will show making it immediately crackable. But why? Why with the current sale?

A general comment on all this is that I'm pretty sure we have the competence here to implement the most secure licensing sytem on the planet. After all, most of us are mathematicians, theoretical physicists and computer scientists.

It is an active decision not to use overly complicated licensing systems because:

  • We respect privacy of the user/customer.
  • We prefer to design for simplicity and ease of use for the user/customer (not to mention schools) and to minimize administrative load for ourselves.
  • ANY licensing system can be (easily) cracked or circumvented (yes, this can be proven mathematically) and we prefer spending our time on other things rather than this mindless escalation in licensing terror that dominates the software and media industry right now.
  • We think the estimates of the anti-piracy organizations of lost sales are rediculous, and the way they act against society is unacceptable. Those that use cracks would probably not buy the product anyway, and I'm not even sure we want them as community members...
