Spoiler: show
Sounds good. Sign me up as a mechanic designer.

Never mind.

So what is our first step to the goal? How about make a working chassis that is useful and all terrain?

I can be a mechanical designer too?

Now that I have a better idea of what you do, could I become a mechanic designer too?

And I'm also thinking of a classificatiion. Do you want it to be in around 3 generel categories, or like animal taxonomy? I could do either.

2 Holomanga
Maybe 3 groups: rovers, hovers and leg walkers?

2 Bronie12345
There are no bosses now, so I'll add you to list without class.
And I'll start adding scenes when we will make robots classification

it was a frase i just like to say...
it just means count me in...

robot classifications meant like avoiders, atackers etc?

Oh, sorry.

And we should classify robots not by their specialities, but by their technical properties.

P.S
How do you think, should I explain for what is "reflex arc programmers" and another works in the 1st post?

We could do the robots like animal taxonomy, with rovers, walkers, and hovers being the phyla, then some more subcategories. We could add all the classifications to a big wordpad document, then use it for future reference.

uber lag. even with some of pcp's best parts, we would run a 20hz, 8-bit minibrain in around 40 percent RT

I think we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. At this point we don't even have a physical body to work with... But I'm working on it!

2 Holomanga
May be you can make a first version? And we will improve it

2 RA2lover
I didn't know that brains are measured in bits :)
There is another concept, I'll show it later,
but izacque is right - we need a physical platform for our experiments.

even if you can make simple neuron model out of, say 3 objects, yo'll need millions of them to make something that has "it's own mind".

Yes, you are thinking right way. But in my idea, neurons are replaced with special lists.

I have a little bit of knowledge in neural network and I have programmed in Java and scripted in Javascript before so maybe I could help.

So we are building an AI in Algodoo?
The challenge with this is that it is hard to modify scripts once they are written. So we cannot have a bot that learns. However, a bot that reacts according to its situation is easy.
You can add me as a thyme programmer and mechanical engineer.

It is possible for an bot to learn , using many custom variables and arrays..
If you have a question, have a dollar and call somebody that cares.
No really just PM me if you have a problem :)
