Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
@ivanlul: we could use trigonometry instead of stabilizing the altimeter. it's better than tracking the e.pos(1) of an object, you know.
made with paint, but i hope it's understandable
else, if you want to get into the easy way, a gyroscope should do the trick for that.

@Ivanlul - Sorry, but I couldn't make better suspension 'cause I am rubbish at Algodoo but if anyone else has good suspension then feel free to post it here!
Btw - can you please update the goals and the scene on the front page - here it is for you -
Preview:
Current Project
V-22
Not completed
Completed
Primary Goals:
160 m/s speed cap
Realistic weight (15,000 Kg +- 500)
Stable flight
Vertical Take off and landing
Short take off and landing
Aerodynamic wing
Secondary Goals:
Hooking Mechanism
Measurement tools
Landing gear
Cargo Bay
Test dummy
One weapon (machine gun)

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
Hey I'm working on an experimental accelerator machinegun. It has few parts so it's low weight, and almost none of them move, so it can be used easily on your coptor. I think it would be perfect for this. Do you want to use it?

I don't think it works -
P.S. Tell me if I got it wrong! I did it like this -
- Code: Select all
scene.my.heightground = scene.my.dist * (sin(scene.my.laserang))
//This translates as:
height above ground = length * (sin(angle))

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
Ok well I'm going to need to modify just a tiny bit so that it won't break when you fly it around, but don't worry it'll work.
EDIT: I have two designs, one that's stronger but has some recoil and is less reliable, the other is less powerful but is recoiless and more reliable. I'll post both.

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
I just found this on Algobox -
and I made it into a scene which we can fit onto our V-22 Osprey - so it looks like we might not need your scene after all
@Ivanlul - If we do use this gun, can you add Frank to the list of contributers because he made the gun.

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
Well, you forgot to add the velocity refresher.... and as the plane in its top speed flies faster than the bullets can..... fail.

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
EDIT: for the AGL altimeter, the angle is wrong.

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
algodoo's unit for angles is radians, not degrees.

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
rad - degrees
angle*(180/3.1415926535897932384626433832795028)
I'll reply to everyone's things tomorrow.

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
- Code: Select all
scene.my.rad2deg=(n)=>{n * 180/math.pi}
There, that one is much easier to use in terms of quick use.

Okay guys, this is what I came up with:
Gun looks good, although reduce the rate of fire and make a good skin for it.

We need to:
- Fit the gun
- Add the wheels
- Make a skin (as you said)
- Make the engine more powerful so it can actually lift the plane/helicopter off the ground vertically
(Just a reminder to myself so I don't forget)

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
Actually, while the engine can't get it off the ground, it is strong enough to make it hover in midair and/or give it a little bit of lift.
And by the way, I'm joining the collab.

the engine works for me, try removing the fixate to the background (fixate is on the back).

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
I know I did that. I just mean if you drag it up into the air it'll hover there if you turn on the engine.

Re: Experimental Aircraft Collab
Sorry, It works now - it was just that my comp froze a bit.
But - is anyone else having lots of lag with it, or is it just me?
