Train

Work together on Algodoo projects here.

Train

Postby mickeena » Mon Aug 09, 2010 12:00 am

I was hoping to create a train set which is similar to Hornby, whereby you can create you own set with the pieces supplied. I created a version before, but all was forgotten as I stopped using Algodoo for a while as I got a new computer. Now I have a new one with Algodoo again, I have decided to create one which, as a group, we can develop the track for. I will create the basic track pieces with points etc. but I would like some help to create the layout, train carriages and any new ideas such as stations or new points.

The trains will be mostly without collide groups, although the wheels will collide, and the trains will have bumpers which collide with other trains and "traffic lights".

One thing which will be implemented, which I think it is important to say, is that there will be 2 train types: Fast and Slow. The trains will NOT be able to go backwards, but will be able to stop and go forwards. There will be 10 trains, operated by the numpad number keys (probably): 5 fast and 5 slow.

Please respond if you would be interested in helping me, or even if you would just like to play/create your own track when the demo is created. I may also post a competition to create a track.

I will post the track pieces, and the basic train chassis if there is any interest.

The basic kit for creating trains or points etc. is here!! I would like some traffic lights which are thyme based and stop trains when the points are incorrect. BUT I am rubbish at thyme :S :(

Yeah...
I need someone to do scenery for the whole scene - I'm about to post the final version which will need scenery. Please UnderGround, could you add scenery to the whole track, then post it as a response.

I also need someone to make a set of trains. This mean 3 slow trains and 3 fast trains. They need to use the chassis' provided and need to fit on the rails at the top section. The top 3 rails (points "7" and "8") are the slow train rails. the 3 below it (points "9" and "0") are the fast train rails.

Lastly I need someone to possible make a thyme script which allows people to walk around, but who stop at crossings when the barrier is down. There may also be cars which behave similarly. Feel free to add any thyme edits and post them as responses to the scene.

If you remove the quote it's much better.

You know, I say this to a lot of collabs, but I might actually join this one, since it's more about artistic abilities. Anyway, I guess I'll do the scenery.

Also, I take it you like trains, since both your topics are about them? Also, my signature is the best. :D

Chronos.
Firstly, I think underground may be doing scenery but I'm not sure. I haven't had any response from him for ages. if you would be able to finish ALL the scenery, including crossings (over the rails) and similar, I'd be very grateful.
Secondly, I like train sets, but not the real things. I don't dislike real trains, but I find them boring!

Nintendo, so would I!

P.S. I hate your sig Chronos!!!
