Q-STEER collaberation

Postby BBD automotive » Fri Jan 01, 2010 6:10 pm

First of all, you might want to know what Q-STEER is...

Q-STEER was started off by a company called Takara Tomy (Known in England as just Tomy), but it wasn't actualy started off as 'Q-STEER'.
It was started as a pull back and go car which was the same size, quality and the same vehicles as Q-STEER, but it was called CHORO-Q.

A choro Q pull back and go car.

So Takara Tomy thought "we can put more 'life' into these, make them more like the real deal"
So they decided to make them into the little infra-red fully functioning RC cars we know and love today.

2 Q-STEER cars compared to a coin.

But then I decided that i can get them onto the computer so that everyone can drive them (it's a bit of a 'spread the love' situation  ) and thus Q-STEER on Algodoo was born.

I strive to make as many makes and models of cars that I possibly can, and I want YOU to help me.

In this collab, you can help me make more models of Q-STEER cars and expand it throughout, well, wherever...

Also, you can make requests for Q-STEER cars, so I, or someone else on the Q-STEER team, will make it.

There can be as many members of the Q-STEER team as possible.

Members of the Q-STEER team:

1. Rhett97
2. Kutis96 - AHOX
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

-Updates-

New car: BMW GINA by BBD
New car: BBD motors 'mimix' GT by BBD
New cars: Dodge RAM 1500 and Dodge RAM 1500 DAKAR RALLY
New car: Super detailed Q-STEER Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10

Room for improvement:
Kilinich, yes THE Kilinich, says that Q-STEER (the Q-STEER on algodoo) is rather boring and probably suggests that I get off my backside and do something interesting.
So, I am thinking that on future Q-STEER cars that i could actualy draw out the circuit boards and steering rack and everything else on the chassis, then do quite abit of shading on the bodywork, and make it so the steering rack on the chassis actualy turns.
So i decided, YES i will, but as a sort of concept, so i will make ONE only and see what it looks like.
If I, or anyone else likes it then i will probably make all of them like that.

Well, as long as it works properly and is small and cartoony like Q-STEER cars are, then that's fine.
welcome to the team!

I'm going to go with what you said Dare, about the Dakar trophy truck.
I've decided (out of many pickup trucks out there) there will be:
A Dodge RAM 1500 Trophy truck,
A Toyota Hilux Trophy truck (just because they are 'invincible')
And a Volkswagen Touareg Trophy truck.

Alright, a super detailed Q-STEER car:

Beware! it has alot of oversteer, so you may find yourself going around in circles.

Very well, you may join. What you said about the game controller, can you make the joystick control the hinges that turn the front axles?

Alright, i get it now!
One suggestion is that you could put the simulation speed up a little, either that or my computer just needs sorting out.

I've decided that i'm going to make a 'Q-TANK', which will have a working turret, but it will have to be as simple as possible.

Looking very good so far, the more detailed models are really good, the others are nice too, I hope you manage to come back and continue working on this, I have sent you a PM in relation to this by the way.
