Power Cell Collab

Postby Sonic » Fri Dec 04, 2009 1:49 am

The purpose of this collab is:
1. To create an interchangable, realistic, scripted power cell, and
2. To create devices that then run on said power cell.

I have a few ideas as to how this could work, but I'm not smart enough to build them.

Just store "power level" in some variable (controllerAcc, friction etc).
If you simulate electricity by lasers, make laser (powes source) and transparent box blocking it that becomes gradually non-transparent when being hit by laser.

On the other hand, it's good idea to create power cells with real sizes and masses, and creating some standards for algodoo electricity. (I'm not sure but AHOX tried to do this but concentrated on lightbulbs)

I decided to try it by myself. Here's the effect. Nothing spectacular, but has one advantage over other power cells I have seen: works only when being in closed circuit.

BTW it's my 100th uploaded scene :D

What I mean is I want to make power cells that you can store outside the device, and then you can put it in the weapon and then use it, then when it dies you can take it out and put in a fresh one. Otherwise I could have done this on my own.

There are some cars with batteries. Compatible with AHOX Beta - AHOX Electricity.
I used for all my cars my new electromotor. You can find it here:

That batteries aren't complicated. They have just 2 boxes: Body, and head with charge.
To make electricity from them, use my battery socket. I'm making phunlet of it right now.

i might be able to make something like this. to charge it a spinning scripted circle hits a rectangle causing it to become less transparent, then the devise runs on it's non transparency. the devise will also subtract transparency until the box is completely transparent and is needed to be charged again. i got most of that but i can't get stuff to run of of it
