Hai thar!
I think it is sad that the collabs running momentarily are so complicated, that people like me don`t understand anything. It`s just that standardtoaster and frank start arguing about when you can use the texturematrixfloats as independent variables (1. I know that i just said nonsense/2. don`t take it personally)
SO: I am trying to make a "we`re not that good but we kick ass too" collab to build some big spaceship thingy :P
Please, anyone just feel free to join in!I already made some template of what it might look like, if anyone complains about size or so, we can still change it. and here it is:

I made some crappy rocketlaucherbays yet (strg) but... well.
We could maybe start with mounting those bay with actual rockets (wow!)
this to start off...
PS: frank, standardtoaster, feel free to join too xD

Members:
Sonic (working on a shield)
Davidz40 (being 1337 and submitting cool things:P)
Me (simple thrusters for rocket and ship)
Under Ground.. I guess (Escape pods{stupid actually cuz this thing is never gonna get destroyed! xD})

Features this this thing just must have:
Design
Thrusters
all kinds of funkeh weaponry (like rockets`n guns and stuff)
yeah, if anyone has more ideas or wishes just tell, cuz this list is very expandable.

Sure I'll join. I'll start by trying to make a force shield for the ship. I'm good at shields and stuff. Check out my UFO.

this scene contains some usefull parts - reactionless drives for thrust and maneuvering and gravity-independent cannons.

yes, texturematrix floats can be used to store independent variables

lol, just had to say it...

still, we'll need something smaller to work with. the shield won't be able to show up in a full screen with 0.001x zoom

The shields in star trek weren't visible, unless they were hit,
Although something smaller to work with would be a better idea for ease of use

Yeah a smaller ship would be nice, else the shield will have to be superhuge and that'll make it harder to use. Anyway, I didn't get a chance to work on the shield yesterday, so I'll do it today.

okay, first i`d like to ask who of you is now actually "officially"in, and second is, that I will just upload a smaller base of the ship(240 metres[anything smaller and it wouldn`t be epic anymore :P]) without any rocketlauncherthingys yet. I`ll just edit the previous post in the start.

yeah, and that`s it! btw., anyone has an idea about attractionless thrusters? they better not be too complicated cuz they`re supposed to get spawned ^^ working on it...
oh and it`s bes not to move the template so we can just work on the same grid...

can you make it able to pop up and go away at will, cuz anything we will shoot from this ship will be sh00ped by the shield ^^ Anyways, the size is just faaabulouuus!

I trieb that too, and it has three major flaws. The first one is the missing collideset, the second one that it`s really hard to turn it on/off and the third one is that it is neither very stable nor lightweight... it`d be awesome if it worked, but sadly, it doesn`t...
I once saw a scene with an "impenetratable" bodysuit, which was basically a plate turning infinitely heavy when hit and then turning normal again.maybe, if we could use this to put it into little balls, which do not collide with each other, yet collide with other objects and are held in position by that attraction-constellation, that would work. Just an idea ^^

only 2 boxes, 2 lasers(can be only one if you want it to be auto-on), 2 collision groups(can be only one), and one fixate.

thats almost as simple as it can be.

Oh, btw, Im making a new skin for the sppace ship, hope you dont mind. it keeps the original body shape, just has more detail :D
