Featured scenes suggestions

As you may have notice, the integrated Algobox now has a featured scenes view that is shown when Algobox is opened in Algodoo. This was mainly added to make Algodoo Play a bit more easy to get started with, but every Algodooer will of course see the featured scenes and this will hopefully make the less noticeable Algobox contributors have a chance to get noticed.

The featured scene shown right now were chosen from the scenes we lost in the disk crash, but we have planned to change the scenes on a regular basis (maybe change a couple of scene per week or maybe change one scene per day, depending on how many suggestions we get).

Use this thread to suggest scenes to be featured, but remember to follow the rules below.

The Scene must;
  • Work with Algodoo Play (it is a big plus if it is interactive with the drag and/or knife tool)
  • Comply with Algobox and Algodoo Terms of service agreement
  • Be suitable for children
  • Preferably run smoothly even on a low performance computer
  • Should be fun, educational or interesting (preferably all three :))

The Scene must not;
  • Contain any suggestive or offensive themes
  • Alter the config, for example: sim.frequency, SPH settings, or any other global variables

Also, feel free to suggest changes to how featured scenes should work.

Thank you Nxdt for setting up the ground rules.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago and was shocked to see my Lunar Lander scene had been chosen, Thank You! (BTW: My new 3D Pinball and WWI Taube airplane scenes fit the guide lines.......shameless plug over)

I always thought something like this would be a good idea, I suggest looking a little ways back for scenes. Older scenes that will work with Algodoo Play are great because newcomers to Algodoo may never see some of the earlier work any other way.

I suggest looking at all the Phun/Algodoo old timers scenes, especially Kilinich, but Im sure you already have his scenes on your radar.

I have a question. Do all features work also in Algodoo Play/Algodoo Physics when users playing scenes (i.e. not when they creating scene)?
For example, Plot/Visualization features.

All windows left open when saving a scene will also be shown in Algodoo Play. You cannot, however, open new such windows since you cannot even get to the context menu in Play mode.

Interesting scenes!
I've added both the bouncing balls experiment as well as your attraction maze to the featured scenes.

Keep them coming!

I think it should be sounds in scenes. You drag the sound-file into Algodoo, just like an picture.
And you will be able to set an button to press when you want to hear the sound. I want this because i want my cars to have sounds in them. :D

I have added the Scorpian scene!
The Printer was also very polished, but we are trying to move away from the word Phun, since it is associate with things that children should not see.

Wow, every one of them look great!
But I will have to spread them out a bit to give other Algodooers a chance :)

My next project is a mechanical computer that computes the solution to the Tower of Hanoi game above, instead of having a pre-assembled sequence of instructions. The (somewhat) physical manifestation of the Hanoi solver program is how I imagined virtual machines to work, which helped me gain intuition on a virtual machine programming project. I hope it gets featured on the Algodoo blog and won't end up too laggy.
