Nxdt's weekly scene.

Postby Nxdt » Mon Sep 12, 2011 11:01 pm

Hey guys I plan to try upload 1 scene a week, i thought i'd make a thread that would be updated everyweek by me with a new scene. Please tell me what you think of the idea and also if you want to give a suggestion for a scene then that is welcome too. (I am keeping a list of ideas to make)

[12/9/11]
So, to start this week, I'm uploading two small creations, a C-gear piston and a inline 12 collision engine.

Out of interest, why is the engines cylinder off centre?

It will only spin in a certain direction better i believe. Its how they used to control Forward/reverse in traction engines.

That makes sense... that way, the piston with power (the one pushing down) will have the connecting rod vertical, which will supply more power to the crankshaft than having the piston push the connecting rod obliquely. Unfortunately, this means that it will have substantially less power going in the opposite direction. Am I right?

Yes, but you usually only need power in one direction. I will try to make it so you can change the direction.

I stopped using Phun just after the whole change to Algodoo happened because I never bought it. I literally haven't been back once to see what's been going on or look at the shit I used to be into (relevant to scenes I uploaded, not Phun/Algodoo itself). It's been a while and I've been doing other things in other places by a different name. I'm tied up in school, I'm into ponies, I actually have friends now too. A lot has changed. But I found my old email, I dug through the thousands of inbox items, I recovered my accounts and I came back. I still don't own Algodoo and I'm so busy with other projects I probably won't be active in the community or make scenes again unless a copy magically appears and I have more free time, but I at least wanted to say that you and Kilinich have always been my favorite community members and I've always loved your work.
I'm not CrystalCube anymore.

Hey thanks, that's really cool. Algodoo was a double edged sword, great for people who could get there hands on it, bad for the guys that can't. Btw, i'm pretty sure you can just keep reinstalling the demo once the 15hrs runs out.
