Thank you for the comment!
UPDATE!!! Now clones all properties of the polygon. Also includes a note for what type of polygons you should use.

Very nice polygon cloner! Would you be able to have it "scan" a square or circle then spawn it as a real square or circle? Like it would not be a polygon, e.g. the circle would have its pie piece and the square would be a real square.
I registered as Alex but on the phunland forums I am synthro.

That's what my original cloning machine did. But if you want, I can redo the scene with lasers to make it a lot more accurate.

Re: Polygon cloning 1.0 and more
I had a go with the original cloner the other day, but it had lost values somewhere or other / functionality when imported into algodoo, so i didn't get anywhere with it
That polygon cloner is quite useful in a whole cares about CSG fashion - stick a few squares in for custom shapes lol.
i was wondering earlier if you could make custom gears with it too, actually...

Thought i'd have a go at using your cloner for something. its just a sequenced cloner really, and doesnt do any useful production. but i cant wait till someone does do that. car factory maybe?

If you attach a circle to the circle that rotates the laser via a hinge, then set the hinge as a motor, you can get some interesting shapes, including polygons that would normally be impossible.

Were those created with my cloning machine or are they things that get interesting results?

Those were all created with one scanned polygon: A circle with a small box glued to it. The circle was hinged to the scanner's motor. Different speed ratios results in different results. The circle/wedge that's the smallest wedge that's still only one wedge was with the circle motor matching the speed of the scanner motor.

Wow! I have to try that some time. If anybody has any suggestions for improvements on this scene or any other please tell me. I also need ideas. I'm kind of stuck. :S

Has instructions for making a convex polygon. It's not exactly the same as the setup used for the original polygon set, but it's similar enough. Different shapes can be made by changing the relative speeds of the two motors. The circle that the scanner's mounted on has been grouped with the hinge so it's easy to highlight the hinge without moving the object off the scanner, so you can adjust the speed of the scanner motor.
