PROJECT BUBBLE


INTRO

this isn't a normal project, this will be a project what i will be buzzy with till the game laying in the store near you! but for now i will try to make it "with some help" in algodoo, and later in phun!


PLANING

how was you are planing to make something like this in your own! are you asking youself, i guess.
well i'm not, i hope on allot of help from the best and finest players of algodoo, like:

ehm that picure is for EA-games or so. but warping is...is... hard to explain. but if you look at the pic. under the text about warping, i have pulled"warped" one on it. :crazy:

I liked the game a lot :)

If i can help, i would be happy to. I'm still learning to script. I'm good at making vehicles, and guidance systems. Sign me up for whatever, i'll try to help.

Also, i think i can convince grady to help :)

i have see you are able to spawn Complex objects, i need it for spawning the enamy's and spawning it friends (who you made by your self) , and THANKS FOR JOINING!

and if Gradyfitz join us i will be very happy, than we have someone who is a excellent scripter :thumbup:

OMG. I feel honored to be mentioned among Paradigm29,Killinich and others :)
I might help, but my pc is rather crappy so I probably wouldn't be able to test and improve the game scene because of lags. But i'll maybe help with some thyme/technical problems.

i ask you bacause i need someone that is good in making the enemy's and gun's and it is't sure that Paradigm29 and Killinich will help but i realy hope they will :D

For this project, the key to making a good, legible script is a plan (I don't usually use a plan though, but that's because I usually know exactly what I'm doing for everything I can :D).

So, for the project, I assume you'll be wanting some sort of AI, for this AI, you'll need to outline some key things:

  • Customizable Public Access settings (like for example, difficulty (presets) or speed, rate of fire and accuracy).
  • Customizable Private Access settings (for example if you want to be able to change the rate of fire, movement speed, accuracy and similar).
  • When AI is run (for example, running hypothetically a hundred thousand scripts calculating behavior isn't particularly effective when only 7 are needed to be running, "when in bubble" will do :) ).
  • How different AIs run (AI1 runs by just moving, AI2 runs by moving & shooting, AI3 runs by just shooting and so on).
  • What happens when a particular part is hit (bubble - (pops, subtracts one from total bubble count and adds a bubble entity to the game), gun - (kill gun, subtract one from total bubble count and add bubble entity to the game, halt AI using gun) and so on).
  • What particular objects look like (for example, a bubble in script (copy & paste selected object will do) or a shot).

These particular things are just a few things that would give you a well enough working base to build an AI, if you just reply to these particular questions, you should get a pretty significant working AI. If you want an AI that will learn (just basically simple stuff like adjusting the direction bullets are sent based on what works and what doesn't), then I should be able to do it, but you'll have to include a bit more information like how much different you want each bullet to go comparatively to the last direction sent if it hits or misses.

After I have this information, I should be able to make an AI (not too hard) :D. I have in my mind how some of this is, but I'd like to see what you think is the correct answer to these questions, as that's what I will most likely work off.

Mouse - direction
WSAD - controls
Tab - switch controls type: absolute (as in game) or relative (I like it more)

Well, it can much simpler - just use controlled acceleration instead of wsad lasers, but "digital" control more flexible - you can set max speed and inertia.

I can spawn complex objects, but the only problem IS, that only one of them. I cannot create spawn codes that gives it a differeny geomID each time it's spawned. If i Tried to spawn more than one, well, your scene would explode hardcore :)

you may work together with someone who can't spawn complex objects, but who can spawn codes.

It's easy to spawn it with a new geomID. Use the controllerAcc.

nope, if we get this really advanced, we will need a global spawned body count(like kilinich used on his cgears spawner).

It's not *that* advanced for the body count. Instead of using controllerAcc, which could be used for object specific counts, you could just replace controllerAcc with a Scene.my.* variable.

Exactly, I was just playing with this, and made a spawner that spawnes a chain link by link, and uses a scene.my variable for the geomID. Its rather fun to watch.

As for spawning complex objects, I can do that as many times as you want, but not with fixates, as I cant figure out how to keep the diferent objects from gluing together.

Does anyone know a way around this?

The problem isn't spwaning them, its getting it to only fixate what it's supposed to after one has already spawned.
