unstabilized bipeds

ever since the loss of the raunit, i've never really got into using other stabilizing methods. but that hasn't stopped me making 3 (well, 2.5) biped mechs.

anyone else tried this? would like some feedback

Those are awesome. The only thing I can say is that they really can't walk at any speed other than you've tuned them for, and if you could figure out some way to change that they would be much more awesome. Maybe force speed to be set using a scene.my.walkerSpeed variable, which would set both the weight of a counterweight and the speed of the motor? Or the length of a spring holding the counterweight at a different angle or something.

yeah, but i dont use script, and plus, i might as well just use a stabilizer instead, still, that same idea could be used with mechanics somehow... maybe a centre weight that moves depending on the direction?

Yeah, if you can do it "phundamentally" it would be even more awesome. I have seen walkers with spring-and-weight–based balancing which worked quite well, but they were nearly as speed-constrained as these. Any stabilizer would need to be more complex than that to work over a range of speeds.
